General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) will have to make some tough decisions about her future now that she’s seeing the reality of living in Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) world.
In Nixon Falls, Nina was able to live in a fantasy bubble with “Mike.”
Even after Nina and Sonny established their love story in Port Charles, Nina was able to ignore all the mob chaos and keep it out of her relationship.
Unfortunately, Nina can’t do that anymore, so she’s feeling a bit in over her head.
The March 17 episode gave Nina a chance to open up to Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) about some of her concerns, but one of them doesn’t make much sense.
Nina is now worried about putting Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) and her grandchildren in danger through her connection to Sonny, which is ridiculous since Willow is engaged to Sonny’s son – not to mention those are Sonny’s grandkids, too.
If Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Viron Weaver) and Amelia Corinthos (Nathan and Owen Ford) end up in danger, it’s because of their link to Grandpa Sonny, not Nina!
Even so, it’s easy to see why Nina’s feeling overwhelmed.
Nina also seems to be realizing that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) had a much better grip on this whole mob thing than she does.
It feels like this storyline is now approaching an interesting crossroads.
Nina and Sonny’s relationship will be put to the test with a mob-related separation, which will give Nina some time to think about what’s next.
Sonny will keep his distance from Nina and everyone else he cares about until this threat is eliminated.
Naturally, we have to consider what’ll happen after all this dangerous drama dies down.
GH writers have put Nina and Sonny in a situation where this ordeal will either make them or break them.
It could be an opportunity for Nina to fully commit to life with Sonny no matter the cost – or it could lead to them splitting up instead.
An easy way to highlight that choice would be for Sonny to propose marriage.
It could leave Nina contemplating the path ahead and whether she’s truly willing to sign up as a mob wife.
Depending on Nina’s decision, she could become a solid married couple with Sonny that has staying power – or she could reject Sonny and put him on the path back to a reunion with Carly.
Regardless, Nina has been making some updates to her point of view and may eventually have to decide if engagement news is in her future.
