General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 24, reveals Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) acknowledged that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) warned him to stay away from Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), but he admitted he couldn’t.
Dex explained how he fired a shot at “The Hook” to save Josslyn and couldn’t risk the scrutiny surrounding the gun.
After Dex pointed out that Josslyn chose to come with him, he assured Sonny that they didn’t see the killer’s face and couldn’t offer any helpful info.
Sonny got updates on Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) covering for them and learned Joss spent a couple hours at Dex’s apartment since she was shaken up.
Although Sonny wondered why he was just now hearing about this, Dex acted like Sonny and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) had enough going on with all Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) health drama.
That didn’t let Dex off the hook in Sonny’s opinion, but he told him to keep his gun and visit the shooting range so he wouldn’t miss next time.
Sonny also made Dex look in his eyes and swear that he was telling him everything, so Dex did.
After Sonny praised Dex for doing a good job, he said the sky was the limit for him. However, Sonny secretly called someone to check on Dex once he was alone.
In Josslyn’s dorm room, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) was appalled over Joss thinking he’d keep his mouth shut just to save the neck of her new boyfriend.
Josslyn worried about what Sonny would do and didn’t think Cam would deliberately hurt somebody for the sake of payback.
Cameron snapped that maybe Josslyn didn’t know him as well as she thought and called her selfish.
Since Cam thought karma would come for Joss, he looked forward to the day Dex cheated on her.
Cameron insisted their friendship was dead and buried, but Josslyn hoped things would change in time.
After Josslyn warned that Sonny could turn on Dex and have him killed, Cam reiterated that he didn’t owe her anything.
Nevertheless, Cameron said he wasn’t going to spread the news about Josslyn dumping him for some stupid criminal, so Josslyn was relieved as he slammed out.
Afterward, Josslyn filled Dex in over the phone about Cam and learned he told Sonny about the night Britt died.
Dex suggested Sonny didn’t think anything happened between them and felt they were in the clear.
At The Savoy, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) met up with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), so they talked about Britt’s fate as well as the hook investigation.
Sam confessed that Esme Prince’s (Avery Pohl) old nanny might have info on a suspect, so she was heading to Maggie Fitzgerald’s last known address in London with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).
That left Maxie hopeful about Sam and Dante finding time for romance, so Sam admitted she was excited for their first trip as a couple.
At Kelly’s, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) talked to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) about her trust issues when it came to Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) and whether she should give her mom another chance.
Laura gave Liz a nudge to meet Carolyn halfway since she might regret it if she didn’t try to work things out.
Although Laura pushed Elizabeth to share what else was on her mind, Liz wasn’t about to able to say much about the Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) drama before Cam arrived.
Cameron offered to treat Elizabeth and Laura to a special dessert on the house, but they could tell he was trying too hard and covering up his pain.
At Wyndemere, Carolyn wanted answers about the trouble that Elizabeth was caught up in. Nikolas reminded Carolyn of how she once used her skills to suppress Liz’s traumatic memories.
Now Nikolas wanted Carolyn to make sure a young pregnant woman at Spring Ridge never recovered memories of her own.
Nikolas assured Carolyn that it’d be better for Liz that way, but Carolyn ranted about him asking her to medically manipulate someone who was already damaged.
Although Nikolas felt this was another chance for Carolyn to be a good parent, she argued that she spent a lifetime wishing she could undo her mistake.
Carolyn refused to compound it further at the expense of another innocent woman, but Nik tried to argue she was far from innocent.
Even so, Carolyn refused to trust Nikolas or play God with someone else’s life.
After Carolyn said she made that mistake decades ago and would always regret it, she started to leave.
Nikolas called out that maybe this time Liz would regret it.
Carolyn didn’t think Nikolas was a real friend to Elizabeth and acted like he just wanted to save himself, but Nikolas reiterated that he wanted to save Liz, too.
Despite Nikolas’ best efforts to get her on board in Tuesday’s GH episode, Carolyn ultimately stomped off.
In Paris, Rene (Maria Tornberg) showed up late, but she finally helped Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) enter the catacombs through an ancient monastery.
Although Rene kept trying to let Anna fall behind, Valentin remained watchful and concerned about her.
Rene also flirted with Valentin and tried to reignite their romance, so Anna shot them dirty looks along the way.
As Rene stood behind them, Anna and Valentin spotted an area that was closed off by bars.
Lucy could be seen chained up with a gag in her mouth as Valentin and Anna finally found her.
General Hospital spoilers say Lucy’s rescue won’t go off without a hitch, so stick with ABC’s GH!
