General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) will continue to mess with Port Charles residents from beyond the grave. Of course, no one can say with certainty that Victor is truly dead at all!
On soaps, there’s always the possibility for some dirty tricks, especially when it comes to a useful villain’s return.
Victor was a cold and calculating baddie who knew how to pull off an elaborate scheme.
It wouldn’t have been too hard for Victor to pass someone else off as his own corpse with a realistic mask.
If Victor had to bribe a few WSB agents to “confirm” his death, then so be it.
Even Charles Shaughnessy himself suspects Victor will be back somehow based on his exit interview with SOD.
That brings us to Victor’s “gift” to Laura Collins (Genie Francis) since he declared her the sole survivor of the battle that started so many years ago.
Victor suggested he’d leave Laura to live a life of peace knowing that she was indeed a worthy adversary.
GH fans watched as Victor raised a glass and even congratulated Laura on her victory.
Does that sound like Victor’s style at all? We’re not buying the idea that Victor would just pat Laura on the back and let her have the final win here.
The guests at Victor’s will rearing were in agreement that his gifts shouldn’t be taken at face value. With a guy like Victor, there’s always another angle to work.
Victor left some property to Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) in Chechnya, so he most likely knew Laura wouldn’t be able to resist searching for her missing son there.
Laura is indeed planning to launch an investigation and Nikolas hunt, so it sounds like maybe Genie Francis is gearing up for another one of her extended vacations.
If that’s the case, it’d be easy to write Laura out temporarily by having her search for Nikolas and try to bring him home.
Unfortunately, Victor’s talk about letting Laura live in peace made it seem like he might do the opposite.
Between that “gift” and this suspicious property, Victor may be setting a giant trap for Laura to fall into.
Laura could easily get kidnapped and held hostage somewhere, especially if Victor is alive.
If Victor is dead, he could still have arranged for Laura to get snatched and sold to some other enemy she’s made over the years.
Nikolas certainly isn’t in Chechnya since Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) is still watching over him closer to home, but someone else may end up in charge of Laura’s fate if her Nik hunt ends in disaster!
