In tonight’s Law & Order Organized Crime episode, Sergeant Bell’s unit was brought in to cover a protection detail. They have to guard a foreign VIP. The person they were supposed to protect was Diya Laghari. She was there for an emergency meeting called amongst the UN Council. The emergency meeting was about the end of the Ukraine- Russian conflict.

The war has dragged on for more than a year now. There were proxies involved. There was a potential treaty with Russia involved. It was all a political headache and that’s why the prime minister of India didn’t show up himself. He instead sent Diya to give his speech for him. And people were already speculating what was in the speech.

The Indian government haven’t given any tips of being for one or against the other. But many still believe she will speak out against the war. They figured if India wanted to make a show of strength by standing by the Russians then the prime minister would be giving the speech. Not her. The fact that he sent Diya in his place was giving all sort of connotations. Which led to a couple of threats. There were sides that were hoping to threaten Diya into backing their side of the war and they got close to doing so when they bombed a car they thought she’d be in.

Bell asked Detective Stabler to take the lead. She had to go to court. Her ex was suing her for full custody of their son and Bell was fighting back in court. So, she asked Stabler to take the lead with the VIP.

Stabler made a call to change things up at the last minute. He had Diya go in his car while the rest of her people were going in her original car. Someone bombed the original car. They got to Diya’s assistant. They almost killed her and Stabler locked down the scene. He called for backup. He called for bomb squad.

He had his eyes on a suspicious person in the crowd that was watch when suddenly they disappeared on him. It was later revealed that their suspected bomber disappeared into the underground sewer system.

One would think down there was empty, but they would be wrong. There was a whole underground city down there. They even figured out how to siphon off electricity by tapping into ConEd. Reyes agreed not to report them in return for them handing over a picture of their suspect.

Jet was working on facial recognition while at the same time babysitting Stabler’s mom. His mom left the apartment to go wandering around. She called Stabler in a panic because she didn’t know where she was and so he sent Jet over to get her back into the apartment. It was Bernadette who identified something in the picture of their suspect. She saw that pack of cigarettes were actually Russian cigarettes. She had a boyfriend who became hooked on them after his tour in Korea.

The Russian cigarettes could be a tip their suspect was most likely Russian himself. Its verry hard to get those cigarettes in New York because of the embargo on Russian items. Someone had to be determined to get them. Like a person who goes to a smuggler for them and so Reyes called one of his old contacts. He got info on their bomber. His name is Ivan. He was former Russian paramilitary. He now lives in the United States. Jet contacted the federal government for assistant and they helped them find Ivan.

Ivan lived in Queens. The cops went to his home and they arrested him. Bell joined them because her custody trial went on a break. But Ivan was easy to arrest and dangerous to cross. He had a kill list at his home. Diya was on it along with another member of India’s diplomacy. There was also a security guard that was on the list. This security guard stole a microchip off of an American missile system. He took what made it so precise. He also disappeared right after that. And so Ivan was involved in an illegal arms race.

It turns out that the security guard stole the microchip to then sell it to India. He tried to sell it on open market, but India outbid Russia and Russia wasn’t happy about that. Russia was killing off everyone in the deal. Its why Ivan went after Diya. Diya knew about the theft. She didn’t care or report it because she wanted to bring it back to India where India will no longer have to worry about its neighbors thanks to these microchips. They were going to steal American tech to arm up their own defense system.

Stabler realized that Diya was involved. He gave her an opportunity to save herself by throwing her Indian bodyguards under the table and she took it. She handed back the microchips. She let someone else get arrested. And she went back to India empty-handed.

And Stabler made sure American tech wasn’t stolen by a foreign power.

THE END!
