In tonight’s Magnum P.I. episode Thomas Magnum and his partner in business as well as in love were late to a special test. They had to do a renewal test every few years to keep their private detective license accredited. They were an hour late because of a previous case.

They lost track of time. Only they did help an elderly woman keep thirty grand. They didn’t mind being late to the test. They were hoping to get the chance to start the test over for two of them.

For all the good they did in Hawaii. They tried talking to the man monitoring the exam if they could be given extra time to do the test. He told them no. He also told them that have just nine minutes to finish the test. And so it was later a miracle that Magnum passed.

Higgins didn’t. Higgins couldn’t keep working cases with Magnum anymore. She has to wait around for the next opportunity to do the test and win back accreditation or she could possibly risk her visa by illegally working with Magnum. Higgy being Higgy meant she was going to stay on the right side of the law.

She told Mangum she couldn’t help him and so he went looking for a temporary partner. He found one in Rick. The two of them visited the local prison because Rick has a friend. This friend needed their help.

This prisoner otherwise known as Justin was in a car accident a few days ago. He was sitting in prison because everyone believed he was drunk and driving a car that hit another car. Two people are now dead. It didn’t look good that Justin smelled of alcohol when police finally arrived at the scene.

They assumed he was the driver of one of the cars. They wanted to charge vehicular homicide. He could take a plea deal for eight years or try to take it trial where he could possibly receive thirty years. The District Attorney was playing hard ball. The prisoner has a five hour window in which he could take the deal or turn it down.

Only this man was innocent. Justin was innocent. He wasn’t the driver that night. He was in the passenger seat. Some good Samaritan helped him get out of the car and did the same for his buddy who actually drove that day. Sadly, his friend died. The Good Samaritan disappeared.

There was nothing to prove this one man’s story about what happened and so he hired private investigators to track down the Good Samaritan. He’s the only one that could save him. He was also being hunted himself as Magnum quickly realized.

Magnum and Rick tracked down any mechanic that has angel wings on their clothes. Their prisoner friend remembered seeing the angel wings on the back of the man who saved his life.

Well, that helped them to navigate which autobody shop they were looking for. They go there. They found a dead man being hung to torture. It seems their Good Samaritan was on the run from some bad people. His friends at the autobody shop were also in danger. Magnum tried to warn them using a dead man’s phone.

It led to the Ferrari being stolen only for Mangum to recover it later on. He found the woman behind it and she too was a part of car theft ring operating out of Angel Mechanics.

She helped get them in contact with their Good Samaritan. Their new friend ran when he saw them at his hiding spot. But they quickly said they weren’t cops. It turns out a cop had been hired to take him out. The Good Samaritan had stolen a car from a US Senator. He turned the car over to Angel. He then kept everything inside of the car.

Like a laptop that got fenced early on because no one cared about what could be on it. Or at least they didn’t until Magnum and Rick started to sniff around. They were driving with the guy in the backseat to the pawnshop where he sold the laptop when two cars cornered them. They had guns.

They had two vehicles blocking the path going forward as well as exiting out. Magnum and Rick were forced to shoot their way out of this problem. They then called for Gordy for help. He arrested everyone he needed to. He also spoke with the Good Samaritan.

The man told the truth about what happened that night. Justin was thankfully released from prison with no charges still attached to him or pending and later a senator got arrested on live television. But that all pales in comparison to Higgins resitting the exam. She passed with flying colors. She was back to being a private investigator. And she joined the others in welcoming TC back to the bar.

TC had needed a drink after Minha officially ended their relationship, but he was being a good sport about the breakup.

THE END!
