Admiral Killbride was out of the office when the latest case came in. He was busy with his ex-wife. Her name is Elizabeth. She asked to meet up for drinks and that eventually turned into something more because they ended up going back to his place together. It was now the morning after. Killbride has a case. He knew he should be in the office and instead he wanted to know Elizabeth’s real reason for seeking him out. She wouldn’t have done so without a reason. Killbride knows her to well to fall for how she just wanted to catch up. And so he asked her why she was in LA?

Killbride has been located in LA for a couple of years now. It was only now that Elizabeth wanted to see him? He knew when she was withholding something. He also knew that she hadn’t missed him as much as she claims and so he wanted answers. Answers she wasn’t prepared to give him at first. She delayed for as long as possibly until she broke and said that she wanted him to get back into contact with their son. Killbride and their son had a falling out. They currently weren’t a part of each other’s lives and Killbride was fine with that.

Killbride didn’t want to argue with Elizabeth. He decided to leave her at his place while he went in to work. Killbride was hoping to get back to what he’s good at, but everyone there checked up on him. They were worried when he didn’t come in earlier. They knew that wasn’t like him. Only Killbride again complained about wasting his golden years in LA and then he went back to focusing on work. The team was investigating the attempted murder of Sean Baker. Sean was the founder of a tech company that has a lot of DOJ contracts.

It turns out Sean was building robots. These were supposed to be capable of everything. They would be used to find Americans out in a battlefield. So that no man was left behind. These robots would also offer medical aide and so someone stole that technology as well as thrown Sean over a second story banister. Sean was in surgery. There thankfully a lot of evidence because this happened in a hotel. Sean had been staying there. He had taken his technology with him to the hotel and the technology was in his suitcase.

The team had thought it was odd that Sean would use a hotel. He was from LA after all. His business was run out of LA and so there was a reason for him being at the hotel. The team looked into it. They found out that Sean had made several robotic chips lately. Like he made more than what the military was testing. It seems Sean was getting too tired of the exclusivity contract that the Navy made him sign. He wanted to make more money. He basically wrote up an add online saying that he’s willing to sell the technology. And so he was committing treason when he was almost killed.

Sean had never met the buyer until that day. Which was why he didn’t recognize the person he was meeting up was in fact a woman. She flirted with him a bit and then she grabbed his bag by “accident”. She was walking off when Sean tried to stop her. She throws him over the balcony and then escaped with the suitcase through the backdoor. This woman was so good that they didn’t have a record for her. They had to go their favorite baker to identify her and it turns out she was an arms dealer.

Colleen has never been caught. She left the game a couple of years ago and it kinda of surprising to see her back in it now. She must have come out of retirement because robots were the way of the future. Colleen was making a deal to sell the robots to a couple of Russians by time NCIS tracked her down. They had to hit the building. They worked their way up to arrest everyone they came across and they did their best to ensure that the robots mircochips never got away. Or at least they did until they realized the mircochips they have were all fakes.

Colleen has gotten rid of the real ones. She found a conscience after her peaceful home on the border to the Ukraine was flooded with refugees and she could no longer ignore the real cost of these arms deals. But she was going to sell the fake ones because as she says “a girl’s gotta eat”. Colleen was arrested for the attempted murder.

And Admiral Killbride found out that his son Alexander was in an outpatient at a treatment center. It seems their son was fighting back against the addiction that caused the rift in the relationship with his dad and Elizabeth thought it would do their son some good to see his father there at a meeting. And so Killbride agreed to go to one.
