They switched tribes last week. However, the curse of the Lulu tribe lived on when Sean essentially quit the show. He was transferred to the Reba tribe and he made friends with practically everyone.
His exit therefore shocked them. Sean had wanted to play on until suddenly at tribal he no longer wanted to. He wanted to quit. He said he missed his husband. He said he wanted to go home. He begged them to vote him out and that’s what they did. They gave him what he wanted. And he destroyed their plans on the way out.
It turns out Sean could be a bit of a jerk!
Sean told Sifu on his way out that he hadn’t voted for him. Sean, in his own way, had warned Sifu that someone on the Reba tribe wanted him out. Sifu then began looking at the others with suspicion. He wanted to know who put down his name. He knew it wasn’t Sean. He later asked everyone who voted for whom and they all lied to him.
They all claimed they voted for Sean. No one wanted to admit they voted for Sifu. No one wanted to admit they voted for Dee. And that more than anything is what’s imploding the Reba tribe.
The Belo tribe was at least united in their shared starvation. They were hungry. They’ve gone without food for days. They were living off of water and coconuts.
Which got old pretty fast. Kendra even tried to eat a worm for the protein and it wouldn’t go down. She spat back it out. Kendra used to be very animal-aware before this. She used to save worms she saw on the sidewalk because she was afraid of other people stepping on them. Meaning it was probably her conscience that stopped her from chopping down on that worm.
Kendra only saving grace was her humor. She kept everyone laughing. She was the new Bruce on the Belo tribe. She was also quickly winning friends amongst her tribe. She kept them upbeat as they all struggled with starvation. Kendra started out as Belo. She remained Belo.
Only now she was befriending the former Reba members. She was befriending Emily who was formerly Lulu. She wasn’t getting along all that great with Brando. Brando said she was too much after ten days together seeing as they were both originally Belos together.
Brando had tried to bond with Drew. They were both on the nerdy side. They could talk about Pokeman. They could talk about anime. They were doing really well until Brando tried to reach out to form an alliance with Drew and Drew shut that down. Drew didn’t bother lying or leading Brando on with false hope. He basically told him upfront that he wasn’t willing to build an alliance with him. Drew was happy with Austin. They were both formerly Reba. And they’ve already made an alliance with Emily.
Emily was the odd one out. The former Reba members reached out to her on day one. They asked her to join an alliance with them to help rid themselves of the always Belos. Emily was actually so happy that people wanted to work with her that she instantly agreed. What Emily didn’t know was that the always Belos would also reach out to her. It took them a little longer than the formerly Rebas. They didn’t try to work together or work with Emily until Brando’s alliance with Drew was rejected.
That’s when Brando decided to reach out to Kendra. He got over his annoyance with her to reach out and tell her that they needed to work together if they wanted to survive. Once they came to an agreement, that’s when they reached out to Emily. Emily can now go either way. She could side with the always Belos or she could side with the new Belos. Emily has to consider her long-term game plan. She has to pick a side that would benefit her. She was considering her options as the curse of the Lulu tribe struck again.
This time it was with the new Lulu tribe. They were running low on papayas as well as trust. Their rather limited food options were also unfortunately affecting Jake’s health. Jake has passed out twice now. He did it for the first time on a previous episode. He did it for the second time tonight. Jake used to have a problem with binge eating. He eventually sought out help and he got healthier. It helped him to lose weight. He also thought it would help him survive on “Survivor”. Jake was one of the muscled members of the tribe that they needed for challenges and so his health could affect their game plan.
It doesn’t help that Jake keeps passing out. He’s refused to get medically evacuated off the island. The only way for him to leave was if they voted him out and they might have to do that for Jake’s own good if he keeps refusing to help himself. Jake was unwell, but the tribe was united on a different target. They were uniting against Katurah. Katurah was being shady. She developed a dislike for Bruce that simply didn’t make sense. He was one of the strongest players. He helped them find food and create a fire without a flint when he was back on Belo.
Katurah hated Bruce for being a know-it-all. She failed to see what he brought to the table. She also was caught searching for an idol and still tried to lie about it. Her new tribe now doesn’t trust her. She only really has Kaleb. The same Kaleb that was befriending everyone now because he was worried about his own position. If it comes down to it, he will have to betray someone just to stay in the game. And so the new challenge was really make or break for several alliances.
The challenge tonight required climbing through a jungle gym. Grabbing bags. Opening the bags to find a key. Then using the key to unlock sandbags that they would then throw at three pillars. Reba tribe won the challenge. They earned Immunity on top of being given fish. They also got to pick who from each tribe goes to a new challenge. They chose J from their own tribe. They chose Kellie from Lulu tribe. They had seen her face when she sat out the earlier challenge and they wanted to give her another opportunity to stand out. And lastly they chose Austin from Belo tribe.
They chose Austin because they wanted information on the Belo tribe. The Belo tribe had lost the challenge and they had to give up their flints. Austin on his part had also pretended like he wouldn’t help his former tribe when just the day before he was saying Reba Strong. Anyways, this new challenge asked each representative of the three tribes to choose between an amulet or food. They all had to make a decision together or else the amulets would have no power in the game. Austin wanted to choose food. J wanted the amulets. Kellie was in the middle and she had to choose the amulets.
The three of them later agreed to form an alliance. They agreed to secretly work with each other in spite of being on separate tribes and Austin might need that because his tribe was imploding. Brando approached Drew with a plan to oust Kendra. Drew told Emily. Emily then asked Brando about it and Brando lied to her by saying it was actually Drew’s idea. Drew supposedly approached him. Brando told both Emily and Kendra this lie. They believed him. Only Emily still had questions. Emily talked to Drew again. She also talked to Austin. They both tried to win over to their side. And if that wasn’t possible, they might have to play an advantage.
Austin lied to the rest of the tribe about the amulets. He only told Drew the full truth. They didn’t know if they could trust Emily going into the tribal council. They had to wait and see like everyone else. Austin used the goodwill advantage to restore his voting powers. He voted for Brando, Drew voted for Brando, and Emily voted for Brando. It seems she finally picked a side.
And not only was Brando eliminated tonight, but Kendra lost her biggest ally.
THE END!
