The Bachelorette airs on ABC this evening with an all-new Monday, July 10, 2023, episode, and we have your weekly The Bachelorette recap below. In tonight’s season, 20 episode 3 as per the ABC synopsis, “It’s time for Charity and her remaining suitors to hit the road! First, one man is whisked away to a high-flying one-on-one date that lands him and Charity in the center of Petco Park in San Diego.
Meanwhile, the rest of the guys make their way to Oceanside, California, to prepare for the performance of a lifetime on their group date, hosted by Bachelor Nation fan favorites JoJo and Jordan and inspired by Greta Gerwig’s upcoming film, “Barbie.”
Later, one sleepy suitor brings a level of energy never-before-seen at an amusement park to his one-on-one date. Plus, drama in the house comes to a head during an explosive rose ceremony; will Charity be forced to take back a rose?.”

In tonight’s The Bachelorette episode, Barbie was looking for her Ken! But first she had to deal with schmucks. She had to deal with jealousy from both Bayden and from the other guys. She ended up leaving her own party early because she didn’t think she could take any more of the drama.
She only came back because she felt for sure that her husband was amongst the guys tonight. Charity was going on a group date with the guys. She also has a one on one with Brayden tonight. She felt she had a great connection with Brayden. She wanted to get to know him some more. And that’s why she’s ignoring the tension in the house that Brayden has caused.
Brayden doesn’t like the idea of sharing Charity. It wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. He just took it too far by getting mad at other guys for wanting to kiss her and thinking he deserved more of a claim on Charity. When dude, you just met her! Brayden even came close to leaving because he hadn’t liked the idea of sharing Charity.
Which made Charity’s selection for one on one date all the more confusing to the other guys. They began talking after Brayden left for his date. They all thought that Brayden wouldn’t be coming back to the house after the date.
They thought that Charity would send him home after she got a chance to know him. They thought his jealousy and immaturity would cause Charity to realize he wasn’t the one.
They especially wanted him gone after they heard he took a helicopter ride with Charity while the rest of them drove in a hot van to the beach. As for Charity herself, she ended up enjoying her one on one. She took Brayden to the baseball stadium. Brayden was from the area. It was his home team. He also had fond memories of seeing baseball games.
Brayden admitted that he used to play catch with his dad until his dad accidentally broke his nose. His dad had thrown a ball and it had him Brayden in the face and broke his nose. Since then, his dad has refused to play catch with him. He was constantly worried about Brayden getting hurt.
Brayden was also a little gun shy with playing catch and so his worst fear came true when he accidentally hit Charity in the face with the ball. She wasn’t hurt only he was traumatized. Other than that it was the perfect date.
Brayden and Charity both had fun. They hugged. They kissed. Brayden also felt vulnerable enough to tell her he doesn’t know if he has what it takes to continue doing the show. He’s not used to dating someone whose dating several other people. Brayden didn’t tell her that she couldn’t go on other dates with the other guys. He didn’t tell her she couldn’t kiss or sleep with the others guys or else he was going to walk. He just said he wasn’t sure if it was for him. He likes Charity but dating the Bachelorette might not be for him.
Brayden confessed to Charity that he had been cheated on. He had a girlfriend who betrayed him and then smiled in his face like nothing happened. Hence the idea of sharing a potential girlfriend was a hard one for him. It made him scared that he would get left behind. It made him feel like he wasn’t good enough if she does develop a connection with other guys. Its why he wanted to walk and he might still do so. He said as much to Charity. He also said he hasn’t left yet. He believes she’s worth fighting for and that’s all she really wants from him.
At the end of their date, Charity offered Brayden a rose. He accepted it. They both felt like they were in a good place and Charity soon went on a group date with the guys. She wanted to get to know some of the other guys more. She also wanted to live out her Barbie fantasy. They went to a Barbie Fantasy Land. The guys got to dress up as Ken. They had to do it because they were going to be performing a concert for Charity as well as her friends. Her friends being former Bachelorette Jojo, her husband, and a whole crowd of strangers.
The Ken dolls were going to be singing for their Barbie. It was a competition. There was going to be a winner and so the guys put a lot of thought into their performances. Well, most of them did. Some felt they were already like Ken and didn’t need to do too much and he almost lost the competition. Sean didn’t think he had to do much because he looked like Ken. He was blonde. He was chiseled. He thought he just had to show off his goofy side and that would be it until he heard Caleb B sing. Caleb has a great voice. He put the other guys to shame.
Sean then realized he had to step up his game. He went shirtless onstage and his six pack was what saved him. Charity liked how he took a risk by going shirtless. She chose Sean for some alone time on the group date. Aaron S. got jealous when he wasn’t chosen. He said that he was a real man. He said that Sean was only good for basic dates while he knows how to fish and hunt and be “masculine”. And that right there was male toxicity. Aaron S. hated it when Sean came back to the house singing. He called Sean a selfish, privileged child. And this was before the stunt.
Aaron was asking Sean if he was an only child because he said that’s how he was acting. He told Sean to eat humble pie when Charity showed up. She wanted to talk to everyone. Only Sean got to her first because he swore he had to finish their conversation from earlier. The other guys jumped on him after that. They all hated him. They thought he was being unfair because Sean wasn’t giving them enough time with Charity. They might go home because they haven’t spoken to her since last Tuesday. And they blamed Sean for it.
Not that Sean minded the hatred. He just thought they were haters. He didn’t feel guilty at all. He got a chance to kiss Charity and so he thought he was in a great place with Charity only he wasn’t the last to kiss her that night. He also didn’t get the one on one date with Charity. That went to Warwick. Warwick was a quiet guy. Most of the others hadn’t thought he was a threat until he was chosen for that special alone time with Charity. They then started to theorize that the quiet guy might be the one to get the girl and they had been wrong about that.
Warwick really was quiet. He was even quiet on his date with Charity. He didn’t ask her any questions. He didn’t seem like he wanted to get to know her and Charity had to do all the talking. Their date was to an amusement park. They had the whole park to themselves. Warwick got tired after a few rides and he barely spoke to Charity. The date ended up being a dud. They hadn’t connected at all. Charity didn’t give him a rose and he was sent home after their lackluster date. Warwick didn’t mind going home because he fell asleep in the car. The amusement park actually did tire him out.
Later, Brayden made the mistake of confiding in one of the guys. He expressed his concerns about dating someone who’s dating a group. He thought he was confiding in a friend. He didn’t know that the guy would then turn around to use that information against him. But Brayden did warn Charity he might not be fit for the show. He likes her. He likes their chemistry. He just doesn’t think he can handle staying around or falling in love with her if she could fall in love with someone else. Brayden did mention that he still had doubts.
Brayden met her before the rose ceremony. He told her he can see himself introducing her to his family. He was on Hometown already because he thinks she’s amazing and that’s when Aaron B. dropped the hammer. He told Charity about what Brayden said. He claimed that Brayden was staying on for the wrong reasons. He swore he was only telling Charity because he wanted to protect her. And that Brayden has been telling people he doesn’t want to be with someone whose been dating twenty of his friends.
Aaron B. completely misconstrued what Brayden said, but he did poison the well. He changed Charity’s mind about Brayden. Charity realized that she might have made a mistake in giving Brayden a rose. She wanted to go and rip that rose right off. She pulled Brayden aside. She demanded to know why he’s been saying all these things about her. Brayden has been bragging about getting a rose. Charity no longer feels he’s worthy of it and, while she didn’t take it from him after they talked again, Brayden did express doubts about Aaron B.
Some of the guys were even on Brayden’s side. There was no need to get Charity all worked up right before a rose ceremony. She didn’t get a chance to talk with all the guys and so now some of them are going home because they were never given a chance to get to know her. They blamed Aaron B for that. Why did he have to bring up Brayden? Aaron B. claimed he was protecting her only he might have been protecting himself. Not her.
And afterwards at the rose ceremony, Charity made a choice. She gave a rose to Aaron B. She rewarded his loyalty for telling her what Brayden has been saying and she gave her final rose to Tanner. But then she made a decision about Brayden. She was tired of waiting for him to be alright in the process and so she was giving him one last chance. And that could be a mistake because Brayden was showing some immaturity in the promo for next week.
