Tonight’s The Blacklist episode begins outside Taiz, Yemen, Dr. Michael Abani is telling a patient that the stitches are holding but he has to stay one more day to reduce the fact of infection. His wife calls, he tells her that the doctor that was supposed to replaced him backed out. She is upset because he promised not to extend his stay again, she knows he is passionate about his work. All of a sudden, two armed men come into the room and tell Abani that he is a terrorist, pulls guns on him and one hits him over the head.

Cooper is with Agnes, he goes over the schedule for the day, she is staying home sick. Cooper walks out the door, and Pinky walks in another one, he is there to cheer her up. He brought ice cream for the sore throat and moves to feed the soul.

Congressman Arthur Hudson is shaving in his office, his assistant comes in and he tells her that he was reviewing the discretionary spending budget for the task force, the bureau is spending millions on a task force that cannot be find. He wants her to ask some questions to Cynthia Panabaker.

Cooper tells the task force that he just got off the phone with Cynthia, the congressman has been asking questions about expenses, specifically that point towards their Taskforce and he is worried.

Dembe gets a message and leaves quickly, reseller is wondering what is up.

Marseille, France 1992, a younger Dembe is in a bar, he orders a glass of wine and takes out a book. The server refuses, she says twice a week he order a glass of wine that he doesn’t drink and she is tired of it going to waste. She tells him if he wants her number he can just ask, she thinks he is scared. A man in the bar bends down as he is leaving the bar, he exchanges backpacks with Dembe and leaves.

Present day, Dembe goes to see Aissa, the server he met at the bar, she says everything is ok with Isabella. It is her fiancé, Dr. Michael Albani, he disappeared. He says he will look into it.

Ressler does some digging into what happened to Albani and he finds out that he is being held at a military prison, they are claiming he is a terrorist.

Dembe goes back to see Aissa, he tells her what happened to Albani and they are planning on executing him in 72 hours. She asks if Red can help, but Dembe says he doesn’t know where he is. They need to know who Albani was in contact with underground. She tells him to speak to Jon Rapchinski.

Back to 1992, Aissa is sitting with Dembe at a table and they are getting to know each other better. She asks him how a university student can afford designer clothing and he says they are from a friend, Raymond Reddington, he does International trade. She tells him that he doesn’t have to tell her everything, but he can never lie to her.

Ressler tells Dembe that US embassy confirms an asset operating in the region since last spring. The governments hands are tied because of citizen status, they are the only hope they have.

Ressler and Dembe go see Rapchinski and he says Albani to them what ever they needed for the clinic until last year when some soldiers dragged some kids out of the clinic and suspected them scouting for the rebels, they took them out and shot them.

Albani took it hard. Dembe asks who his contact was int he Yemeni military, he says Abdul Hassan, he never met him himself, he always went through Albani. Rapchinski says Albani is a good man and great doctor.

Red is with Agnes, they are eating ice cream together. She asks why she doesn’t go to his house, he says he doesn’t have one any more. He used to have nine of them, recently he found himself letting go of more and more, to be lighter on his feet. Red gets a message, he tells Agnes to cue up the movies. Red calls Dembe back, who tells him that Aissa contacted him. Red says Dembe wants him to save the man who is going to marry the woman she loves. Red says he will try to do what he can.

Ressler finds a statement for a bank in Istanbul, in Albani’s name, and deposits equal over 200k in he past eightmonths. Looks like Albani was trying to get rich.

1992, Aissa and Dembe are at the bar, she asks if he will come back that evening, she wants to talk to him about something. He says he promised a friend he would help him study for an exam. She doesn’t believe him, he is biting his upper lip. He says it is true and he loves her.

Dembe goes to see Aissa and tells her that for he last eight months money has been flowing into Albani’s accounts from shell companies, but there might be a silver lining. They might be able to convince the Yemenis to extradite Albani to the US. She tells him that she is going to convince him that Albani is inside.

Cooper meets with someone who knows Hudson, just asks a few questions, the man says if Hudson is digging around at something, he will find out what it was and tell the whole world.

Dembe and Aissa are going over Albani’s papers, she was in cypress on a day that money was deposited into the account in Instanbul, somebody else is making those deposits.

1992, Dembe rushes into the bar and tells Aisha they have to leave right now. It’s complicated. She is upset, he told her he was studying with a friend, he lied to her. He leave and she stays behind, very upset.

Dembe tells Aisha that he sent the information to the Yemenis and now they wait. He will let her know when they have something. The task force digs a little deeper and it looks like Jon Rapchinski flew in every time those deposits were made. And, two hours after they met with Rapchinski he booked a flight to leave the US.

Meanwhile, Aisha is with Rapchinski and she figured it out, she knows he is involved, and she sees his suitcase with his passport. He knows she is on to him, he says he risked his life helping those people every day, he just wanted to get a little back. She tries to stop him and gets her in a strangulation hold. Dembe is almost there, he rushes in and her saves her, Rapchinski is gone, but she got help from a friend.

Red has Rapchinski and makes an offer to trade him for Albani.

Back to 1992, Aisha introduces Dembe to his daughter Isabella and she told him that she doesn’t want him in their lives because she doesn’t want them to have to be looking over their shoulder all the time.

Red is on the phone with Dembe who says he needs to speak to Cooper.

Ressler tells Cooper he doesn’t know what Hudson’s angle is, Cooper says it is all about political points. If they are going to survive Hudson, they need Red and to prove that they are indispensable.

Dembe stops by to see Aisha, she says Albani is on the way to Germany, she is going to meet him. He brought a gift for Isabella, she tells him to stay for diner and give it to her himself.

Cooper is home, he looks inside the freezer and there is ice cream, he takes one container out. He tells her that he doesn’t remember buying it, she says Pinky was there. He seemed different, like he is searching for something that is already there.
