The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Friday, May 19, reveals that Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) talked to Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) about his Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) issues and how Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) seemed to be overcompensating.
Liam eventually decided he needed to look Thomas in the eyes following the whole San Francisco incident and get a vibe from him.
As Liam left, Wyatt jokingly said to punch Thomas in the face for him.
At Forrester Creations on Friday’s B&B episode, Hope watched Thomas touching a model (Julana Dizon) as he made dress adjustments and flashed back to their near kiss in San Francisco.
After the model gushed over Thomas and Hope’s teamwork, they shared a moment alone and praised each other since they were in such a good place.
Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) came along and watched the warm interaction, so she seemed uneasy.
When Brooke made her presence known, she acknowledged how well Hope and Thomas were getting along.
Once Thomas stepped into the design office, Liam showed up and praised him for saving the line.
However, Liam also wanted Thomas to put himself in Liam’s shoes.
If Thomas and Hope had been married this whole time while Liam pulled the stunts, Liam wondered if Thomas would ever trust him again.
Thomas felt like when he got stranded with Hope, that news must’ve stirred up difficult memories for Liam.
Although Thomas understood why Liam couldn’t ever drop his guard, he promised that Liam didn’t have to worry about him.
Thomas didn’t think Liam needed to worry about Hope or their marriage either.
Back in the CEO office, Brooke admitted that it made sense why Hope didn’t want to be like her.
Brooke pointed out that Hope didn’t want to jeopardize her life, family and career just for a man.
After Brooke hinted that she recognized some signs that concerned her, she brought up Hope’s closeness with Thomas and the connection they shared.
Brooke saw the way Hope looked at Thomas and had to ask if something was going on between them.
Hope couldn’t believe Brooke would ask that since she was simply co-parents and work partners with Thomas.
Brooke mentioned that Thomas used to be obsessed with Hope and worried he’d just gotten better at manipulating.
Hope defended Thomas as her friend and said she knew him better than anyone.
Thomas had become a kind, understanding man who was nothing but professional, so she trusted him.
Brooke noted that Hope had a lot of nice things to say about Thomas and worried she was protecting him for the sake of her line.
If Thomas was coming onto Hope, then Brooke felt she needed to know since no fashion line was worth Hope risking her family for.
Brooke kept pushing Hope to admit if Thomas had been doing something to cross the line, so Hope finally blurted out that it was her and her feelings for Thomas that were the issue.
Since Brooke was aghast, she reminded Hope of the kind of person Thomas was.
As Thomas approached the door and listened in, Hope ranted about how Thomas was mentally unstable and manipulative.
Hope added that she didn’t want anything to do with Thomas and said nothing would ever happen, so she just wanted Brooke to leave her alone.
Brooke hated to leave Hope in such a frenzied state, but she pushed her mom to just let her work.
After Brooke exited, Thomas appeared and looked somber as he let Hope know that he was heading out. Hope realized Thomas must’ve overheard her trashing him and insisted she didn’t mean what she said.
Hope repeatedly apologized as she cried and became frantic. Thomas gave Hope a sad stare as she begged him to believe she knew that wasn’t who he was anymore.
