The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Monday, May 8, reveals that Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) pushed for the truth about Hope Spencer’s (Annika Noelle) feelings and talked about how Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) had been doing everything possible to redeem himself.
Now Steffy felt like “sweet Hope who never misbehaves” was the one to worry about! Steffy insisted she saw Hope flirting with Thomas and acted like Hope was turning into her mother.
Hope argued that she wasn’t becoming Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and countered that Steffy was overreacting to her own misunderstanding of the situation.
Since Hope loved Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) and valued her family, she pushed Steffy not to stir up more trouble.
After Hope claimed she had no feelings for Thomas at all, Steffy said that was good because she couldn’t reignite his obsession.
After Steffy warned Hope not to lead Thomas on or undermine the progress he’d made, she said she’d be watching Hope and stormed out.
Once she was alone, Hope stood there crying and gripping her head like she was totally overwhelmed.
In the CEO office on Monday’s B&B episode, Thomas thought back to holding Hope’s hands as she looked intensely into his eyes.
After Thomas muttered something about how there was “no way,” Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) appeared and asked what his son was thinking about.
Thomas said he was just thinking out loud and claimed there was something off about the sketch he was working on.
Ridge was skeptical, so Thomas decided it might be good to talk and avoid falling into old patterns.
However, Thomas didn’t divulge any news on the handholding incident or the feelings he seemingly suspected Hope was starting to have.
Instead, Thomas told Ridge about the amazing preorder numbers and reflected on Hope’s whole new level of forgiveness, which was affecting her marriage since Liam didn’t trust him.
Ridge argued that Thomas should be doing backflips over the positive numbers and didn’t get why Thomas was wrestling with all the rest.
Thomas gave Ridge his word that he’d never go back to being the person he used to be, but he secretly flashed to holding Hope’s hand again and talking about Hope for the Future’s success.
At Il Giardino, Liam was just about to pay the check when Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) showed up and asked if she could join him.
Taylor pointed out that Thomas hadn’t been crossing any lines and hoped that Liam could give her son the benefit of the doubt.
Liam was glad Thomas had supportive parents, but he felt it was his job to worry about Hope.
Although Liam still feared Thomas could revert to his old ways, Taylor argued that Hope would put a stop to it if that happened and then Thomas would be gone.
Liam feared maybe the impulse would be too strong and that Thomas literally wouldn’t be able to help himself. Since Hope was smart, Taylor felt she should be given some credit.
Taylor also pointed out that she’d never support Hope and Thomas working so closely if she didn’t believe Thomas was past his issues.
All Taylor wanted was for Liam to have a modicum of faith in the effort Thomas was making.
Liam wanted to believe Taylor for Hope’s sake, but he still seemed wary. Taylor assured Liam that Hope had very firm boundaries in place, so there was nothing to worry about.
