The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 25, reveals Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) remained distracted in the design office, where she finally gave up on trying to solve a fashion problem with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson).
Hope was frustrated over Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) not trusting her to know what’s best – and she was upset over the way he kept treating Thomas, too.
Although Thomas understood why Liam was being protective, Hope decided to clear things up once and for all once she got home.
In the CEO office, Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) knew that Hope wouldn’t have had a reason to go overboard trashing Thomas unless Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) thought something was going on.
Taylor was tired of constantly defending Thomas, but she said she’d continue to do it until Brooke and everyone else realized he wasn’t a threat.
Brooke was apologetic and just wanted to move past this, but Taylor worried that maybe Brooke was keeping other things from her.
After Taylor wondered if anything happened with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), Brooke denied it and seemed offended that Taylor would even ask.
Once Brooke insisted she didn’t want to be at odds, Taylor said it’d help a lot if she could just believe in Thomas.
Brooke guessed she had some thinking to do and added that the last thing she wanted was for this situation to cause permanent damage.
At the cliff house on Thursday’s B&B episode, Liam argued that what Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was saying just wasn’t true.
Steffy refused to let Liam blame her brother for Hope’s feelings and explained how she could tell Hope indeed had feelings for Thomas.
Liam pointed out that he made the same mistake when Hope fell off the pedestal and into Thomas’ arms, but Steffy felt this was different.
Once Steffy talked about Hope gazing into Thomas’ eyes and caressing his hands, she said she couldn’t ignore what she saw – and she didn’t think Liam should either.
Liam countered that Hope was completely committed to him and added that he’d been telling everyone how connected they’d been.
That got the wheels turning for Liam, who seemed to realize Hope’s feelings for Thomas could have played a role in that connection.
Liam decided he needed to talk to Hope about this, so Steffy pushed for an honest and painful conversation.
Although Thomas hadn’t crossed any lines and had remained professional, Steffy couldn’t say the same about Hope.
Once Steffy was alone, she looked at a framed photo of herself with Thomas. Steffy thought back to calling Hope out for flirting and seemed deep in thought.
Thomas was also pensive in the design office, where he gazed at a picture of Hope and Brooke. After Thomas flashed back to some close moments with Hope, he seemed intrigued over how she’d acted around him.
At the cabin, Hope found Liam drinking as he waited for her in a chair. After Liam mentioned that Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) took the kids for the night, he said Hope was home a lot earlier than he thought she’d be.
Hope didn’t appreciate the way Liam got off the phone with her and voiced her frustration over Liam’s judgment as well as his lack of trust.
Liam muttered something about trust before Hope argued that she wasn’t a teenager anymore.
Hope was a woman, a mother and had a successful fashion line that she wouldn’t throw away because of Liam’s concerns about Thomas.
Once Hope pushed Liam to try having faith in his wife, Liam said he’d always had faith in her.
Now Liam admitted he didn’t know and said maybe he had it wrong.
Liam mentioned seeing Steffy today, so Hope pointed out that he got to spend time with his ex-wife and took a jab at his track record.
Hope didn’t think it was fair that she couldn’t do the same with her business partner, but Liam insisted it was a different situation.
After Liam said he heard something this evening that he wasn’t expecting to hear, he noted that Steffy made an interesting case for why Thomas wasn’t the problem.
Liam explained that Steffy claimed Hope was the one to worry about and added that Steffy said Hope had feelings for Thomas. That news stunned Hope and led to an anxiety-filled stare-down with Liam.
