The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 13, reveals that there was another debate about Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) experimental treatment since this isn’t something Eric knew was an option.
However, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) recalled how Eric said he was ready to go, so he insisted it was time to turn off life support.
Eric left Ridge in charge of this decision, so Ridge said maybe that was to save Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) the agony.
Regardless, Ridge didn’t want Eric to be in any more pain and refused to listen to Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) pleas to save her granddad.
John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) had to ask if Ridge was absolutely sure. If Ridge did want to proceed with the treatment, then time was of the essence.
Nevertheless, Ridge made it clear that the decision had already been made. It was one that Ridge would have to live with for the rest of his life.
In unconscious Eric’s room on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Donna shared a moment alone with him and said she couldn’t let go.
Donna reminded Eric of when he recently said he wasn’t ready to give up on their adventure together, so she begged him to come back to her.
Afterward, Ridge pushed Donna to say goodbye, so she told Eric that she’d always love her honey bear and that he was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Steffy was still clinging to the idea of Finn’s treatment plan, but Ridge felt like Eric already had the perfect party sendoff that he wanted.
It was the best possible way to go as far as Ridge was concerned.
Once Steffy approached Eric’s bedside, she cried and knew he’d always be watching over them.
Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) also spoke to Eric about what a kind man he was and how he made the world a better place.
Ridge said they had to be strong for Eric before urging him to go be with Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) and Phoebe Forrester (Mackenzie Mauzy).
After Ridge nodded, Finn took that as his cue to walk over to Eric’s equipment. Ridge gazed at Donna and Steffy as they cried before giving Finn another nod to end Eric’s life support.
Just before Finn could pull the plug, Eric’s eyes began moving under his eyelids. That left Steffy, Donna, Brooke and Ridge surprised over the new development.
At Forrester Creations, Poppy Nozawa (Romy Park) brought coffee and joined Luna Nozawa (Lisa Yamada) as well as RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) since she heard about Eric’s ordeal.
Poppy acknowledged that she didn’t know Eric personally, but she’d heard a lot about him through Luna.
No matter what happened, Poppy said it sounded like Eric had lived a full, wonderful life.
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say Eric’s storyline will come with more twists and turns, so stay tuned for updates on all the shocking news ahead.
