The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 19, reveal that RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) told Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) about his visit to Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton), but he feared it would take a miracle for Liam to forgive Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).
However, Ridge convinced RJ to stay positive and hope that time would heal Hope and Liam’s marriage.
At the cabin, Hope ranted about it being hypocritical for Liam to not acknowledge Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) as a problem in their relationship.
Liam didn’t understand how their argument over Hope kissing Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) became about Steffy instead.
Hope insisted it was because Liam loved Steffy, so she refused to make the same mistake as Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) – meaning she didn’t want to put up with the same waffling her mom got from Ridge.
Liam misunderstood and asked if Hope meant she wouldn’t make the mistake of running off with the bad boy, but Hope wondered what made Thomas so bad now.
Hope defended Thomas someone who loved her and was dedicated to her.
When Hope looked in Thomas’ eyes, she saw 100-percent commitment – and the same couldn’t be said for Liam.
Although Liam argued that he’d been totally committed to Hope, she reminded him of how easy it was to ask for a divorce over a kiss.
Hope asked if it was because of Steffy and guessed that Liam had been off telling his ex that walking away from her was the biggest mistake of his life.
The sad part to Hope was that it was probably how Liam really felt.
Liam acknowledged that he had a history with Steffy, but he snapped that he gave all that up for Hope. Once Liam realized he shouldn’t have said that, Hope shrugged it off since he meant it.
Hope ultimately suggested that maybe this was always going to be impossible – that although they were both good people at heart, the situation was untenable.
Hope surprised Liam by pulling out divorce papers, so he asked if she was ready for this.
Although Hope never wanted it to end this way, she insisted this would give Liam the freedom to live his life while she lived her own.
After Hope signed the divorce papers, Liam signed as well and removed his wedding ring.
Once Liam held Hope’s hand for a moment, he touched her on the shoulder as he headed for the door.
Liam paused to wipe his face as he cried before ultimately exiting. Hope also wept as she put Liam’s ring on her own finger and took it off again.
At the cliff house, John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) got a call about a former patient who needed to see him and seemed uneasy over Steffy’s shoulder as they hugged.
Once Finn was alone, he spoke to someone over the phone and angrily suggested there had to be another doctor who could do this.
Finn finally relented, but he warned that he’d only do it one last time.
At Forrester Creations on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Steffy apologized for being late and delivered the news about looking for a new nanny, which could take forever.
Although Steffy didn’t know Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) exact trial date yet, she talked to Ridge and RJ about Sheila being stuck behind bars for good.
After Mike Guthrie (Ken Hanes) pulled some strings to score a visit with Sheila, he urged her to keep her expectations low at her upcoming trial.
Mike was a realist, so he knew Sheila wasn’t getting out of there.
Even so, Mike thought Sheila should look on the bright side since maybe they could be together forever after all.
Once Mike went back to his cell, Sheila learned she had another visitor and became hopeful. When Finn walked through the door, Sheila was ecstatic to see him.
Finn argued that he was only there as Sheila’s doctor, but she didn’t care as long as he came.
No matter what happened, Sheila said it wouldn’t change the fact that she brought Finn into this world and that she’d never stop loving him.
