The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 31, reveals that Eric Forrester (John McCook) spoke to Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) about Hope for the Future’s fashion preview.
This was great news, but Eric had to ask if there was any reason to be concerned about Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) working together in Rome.
Ridge insisted there wasn’t before talk turned to Hope and Thomas doing some press together.
Although Hope had expressed excitement about that, Ridge felt Thomas and Hope should focus on the actual work instead of running around having their picture taken.
The conversation eventually shifted to Ridge’s love life, but Ridge argued he didn’t have one now that both Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) had sworn off him.
In private, Eric questioned why Ridge was still staying at the Forrester mansion and felt like he should’ve worked things out with Brooke by now since they belonged together.
In Taylor’s office, Brooke expected her to step up as a friend and not allow Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to do anything that would come between Hope and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).
Taylor argued that Steffy was just defending her brother, but Brooke couldn’t forget about Thomas’ past.
That led to Taylor insisting she couldn’t forget Hope had Logan blood in her, so Brooke gasped and asked what that was supposed to mean.
Taylor repeated that Hope had Logan blood and eventually brought up the possibility that she was the one with in appropriate feelings for Thomas.
Brooke denied that and reminded Taylor that they were supposed to be friends, but Taylor said friends could disagree.
Although Brooke implied that Taylor was being disrespectful, Taylor suggested she was sharing her true feelings about Hope – just like Brooke did about Thomas.
Brooke countered that it wasn’t the same thing and added that their pact meant a lot to her, so she opted out of this conversation before she said something she’d regret.
Taylor muttered about it being too late for that and gazed at some “Tridge” family photos once Brooke left. After thinking for a moment on Wednesday’s B&B episode, Taylor decided to leave, too.
When Brooke found Eric and Ridge at Forrester Creations, Eric said he’d leave them to sort things out.
Brooke wondered what was going on, so Ridge pointed out that Eric had always been her champion.
After Ridge rattled off a long list of compliments, he admitted he missed her. Brooke smiled at Ridge and confessed that she missed him as well.
At Il Giardino, Hope vented to Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) about no one believing she had the Thomas situation under control.
Deacon understood all the concerns, but he also felt that Hope inherited his street smarts.
Since Deacon trusted Hope not to put herself in tough situations, he saw no reason to stress if she wasn’t hearing any alarm bells with Thomas.
Hope ultimately gave Deacon updates on the big press event happening in Rome, so he conveyed how proud he was and pulled her into a hug.
After Hope took off, Taylor showed up and complained about Brooke before pushing Deacon to reunite with her again.
Once Taylor assured Deacon that this wasn’t about manipulating Brooke or stabbing her in the back, she played up what a catch he was.
Taylor also thought it’d be great for Hope to have her family together, but Deacon could tell Taylor was trying to clear a path to Ridge for herself.
Even so, Taylor kept flattering Deacon with praise and felt he could be the key to ending this toxic, destructive cycle that had gone on for so long.
After Taylor said Deacon needed to call Brooke, she pushed him to do it now and looked excited over the idea.
