The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) true motives have been a topic of conversation ever since his relationship with Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) came to light. This romance happened out of the blue and left fans wondering if there might be more to the story.
It didn’t take long for B&B viewers to speculate that Sheila was using hypnosis or some other type of brainwashing on Bill.
Since Bill hasn’t been acting like himself for a while now, it was easy to assume mind control might be a factor.
Don Diamont offered a surprising view of the situation in a new interview with TV Insider.
According to Diamont, Bill’s interest in Sheila is about “lifelong pain” and being “in a place where he’s self-punishing.”
Diamont went on to claim that Bill deserves Sheila – that Bill thinks Sheila is all he’s worthy of after his many past blunders.
“She’s the punishment for the mistakes that he’s made,” Diamont said.
Diamont was also asked about the online speculation regarding Sheila’s “physiological hold” over Bill – though we assume they meant more of a psychological one.
“That’s not what I’m playing,” Diamont insisted. “It’s not how I see it. But…time will tell.”
This news is interesting since a huge part of the speculation came from Diamont’s portrayal.
Bill sometimes seems docile and almost foggy now that he’s involved with Sheila – like he’s in some sort of trance.
However, Diamont makes it sound like that’s not his intention. It appears Diamont wants his acting choices to come across another way instead.
Then again, it’s possible Diamont is trying to throw fans off the trail and preserve a mind control twist after all.
There’s also a chance one could be written in later based on that “time will tell” comment.
Regardless, Diamont made it seem like he hasn’t filmed anything that would indicate a big brainwashing reveal.
That could change down the road, but we’ll just have to see how it all plays out.
