The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is at the center of the show’s biggest storyline, but there’ll be more time for other stories after that one explodes. There are certainly some underused characters that many fans would like to see more of – including Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis).
Donna and Eric have been coasting along for a while now, so it seems like a good time to throw another obstacle in their path.
Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer) is gone now, but maybe the writers could give Donna someone else to stand up to.
In a new interview with SOD, John McCook reflected on 36 years of B&B and shared some of his favorite moments.
McCook was also asked to pitch something he hadn’t done on the show before that he’d love to play.
It turns out McCook has a very specific foe in mind when it comes to Eric and Donna’s romance.
Now that Stephen Logan (Patrick Duffy) is appearing for return stints more often, McCook thinks Donna’s dad would be the ideal person to meddle.
Of course, Stephen adores Donna and could easily go into protective dad mode here.
Although Stephen isn’t Donna’s enemy, he could certainly be an enemy when it comes to her relationship with Eric.
McCook suggested that he’d like for everyone to see some other sides to Donna – like how wise she is and how strong she can be.
“I’d love for the world to discover depth in her that no one to date has ever seen,” McCook said.
The B&B star also sees the potential for Stephen to object to Donna’s romance and accuse Eric of using her.
McCook insisted it’d be great to see Donna take a stand to defend her love for Eric and the respect he has for her.
“I would love for her to stand up to her dad that way,” McCook added.
Maybe the show’s writers will run with John McCook’s idea and create some family drama down the road.
Regardless, there’s indeed a new obstacle that’s just around the corner for Eric and Donna, so they’ll have to tackle a challenge and some difficult news together.
