The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that trouble could be brewing in John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) marriage. B&B fans know Steffy already misses Finn since he’s been on call more often lately, which leaves them with less alone time.
Of course, Finn and Steffy have also added Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) to their household.
Although Douglas is an agreeable child who likes to show his independence, that’s still been a family adjustment and steals time away from “Sinn.”
The March 1 episode brought the news of a potential promotion for Finn, which explains why he’s been putting in so many extra hours at the hospital.
Finn could become the head of the department if he impresses the right people, so he’s stepping up to prove he’s worthy of the job.
Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) seemed a little worried about Finn’s work commitment causing issues at home, but Finn downplayed the idea.
Since Steffy has work demands of her own, Finn feels like she understands the situation better than anyone.
However, Steffy is only human and has needs! We have to believe there’s a reason why B&B is suddenly dropping all these hints about workaholic Finn and lonely Steffy.
Assuming that Finn actually gets this promotion, that’s just going to mean more time at the hospital away from Steffy and the kids.
Steffy could get frustrated over time, so that could bring some emotional distance in her marriage.
Meanwhile, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) feels like Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) is bottling things up.
Although Liam assured Hope that she could talk to him about anything, it seems like Hope is stressed to the max and shutting down somewhat as a result.
Hope misses Douglas terribly and has been worried about the problems at Hope for the Future as well.
Throw in the threat of Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and it’s been enough to overload Hope’s brain.
Since Hope is starting to create some emotional distance from Liam, that could get worse in the weeks ahead.
Hope could also spend more time apart from Liam as she throws herself into trying to save the line with Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), which appears to be where this storyline’s headed.
It’s easy to see why Steffy and Liam might feel drawn together again.
As friends and co-parents, Liam and Steffy are always going to have a strong bond anyway, but they may have reasons to commiserate soon enough.
Could that lead to temptation and another “Steam” betrayal? Time will tell, but it’s worth mulling over based on the marriage drama that the show’s teasing.
