The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 9, reveals that Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) surprised Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) by taking a break from late nights at the office. Hope explained that the kids were at sleepovers, so she wanted to make tonight about some much-needed hubby time.
After Hope brought out a bottle of wine they’d been saving since last summer, she insisted it was a special occasion and proposed a toast to them.
Liam mentioned Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) at one point, but Hope said she’d rather not talk about him and distracted Liam with lovemaking instead.
Afterward, Liam wasn’t sure what had gotten into Hope lately, but noted that she’d been more passionate or in the moment.
Hope insisted she just wanted to show Liam how much she loved him, but she looked deep in thought as she put her head on his chest.
At the cliff house, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) hinted about something that happened at the office involving Hope and Thomas. John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) was confused since he thought Steffy believed Thomas had changed.
Steffy confirmed that she trusted Thomas and wouldn’t let anyone or anything derail his progress. That left Finn thinking this was about Liam’s negativity, but Steffy shut down the conversation in favor of doing something that required less talking.
Finn and Steffy shared some passionate kisses, but Steffy seemed preoccupied over the hand-holding and intense eye contact she’d witnessed between Hope and Thomas earlier.
At Forrester Creations on Tuesday’s B&B episode, RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman) found Thomas after having dinner with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) across the street.
Once RJ mentioned that he was looking for Hope, he said that she spent all her time with Thomas – at least from what RJ had heard.
After RJ talked about Hope being his half-sister through his mom and Thomas being his half-brother through his dad, he suggested it made him feel very connected to everything at Forrester Creations.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t always a good thing, especially when there was family drama involved. RJ pointed out that Thomas crossed lines that shouldn’t be crossed multiple times, but Thomas promised that he was becoming a brother RJ could be proud of.
Once Thomas vowed not to meddle in Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) love life ever again, RJ hoped that went for Liam and Hope’s relationship, too.
Thomas assured RJ that he was fine with the solid platonic relationship that he’d built with Hope – though he understood why RJ was protective of his caring sister.
Although Thomas didn’t respect Hope’s marriage in the past and hurt a lot of people, he insisted he wasn’t that person anymore. Thomas maintained that there was nothing for RJ to worry about.
After Thomas praised RJ’s work as an influencer, RJ hoped that maybe his big bro could help Ridge see that it wasn’t a waste of time.
Thomas didn’t want to get involved and doubted that he could tell their father that Ridge Jr. wasn’t going to be a fashion designer. That said, Thomas let RJ know he could come to him for guidance.
Once Thomas was alone, he thought back to holding hands with Hope as she gazed into his eyes.
Back at the cabin, Hope also reflected on that encounter and thought back to Steffy acting like she was turning into Brooke.
After Hope talked about how private moments like this were so important, she insisted Liam and their family came first. Hope added that she’d always love Liam and urged him to never doubt that.
Liam assured Hope that he’d never doubted her feelings or loyalty and never would.
