The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that a familiar face will return to the CBS soap starting July 21. Rodney Van Johnson will reprise his role as Russell, the lawyer facing the difficult task of fighting for Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) freedom.
B&B fans will recall that Sheila reached out to Jack Finnegan (Ted King) in hopes that he’d take her case instead.
Jack is apparently one of the best criminal defense attorneys in Los Angeles, so Sheila was hoping to get him in her corner.
Of course, Jack shut down the idea since Sheila is the last person he’d ever want to help.
After all the turmoil Sheila has caused for Jack’s family, he’d much rather wash his hands of her for good.
Sheila almost took John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) life and nearly wiped Li Finnegan (Naomi Matsuda) off the map, too.
It’s easy to see why Jack would reject Sheila’s plea and force her to rely on other legal assistance.
Rodney Van Johnson played Sheila’s attorney at her hearing back in January, but that was when Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) was making sneaky moves and setting a trap with the FBI.
Now getting Sheila off the hook will be a lot tougher for Russell, but she’ll no doubt hope that he can come through for her.
There’ll be some wild moments at Sheila’s upcoming trial, which will set the stage for some major revelations.
Even if Sheila doesn’t score her freedom legally, she could always use this opportunity to make another escape.
Regardless, it’ll be fun to see Rodney Van Johnson step back into Russell’s shoes for this trial, especially since it’s supposed to end with a bang!
We should mention that playing Russell isn’t Van Johnson’s first rodeo in the soap world.
In addition to Van Johnson’s role on B&B, he also portrayed T.C. Russell on Passions, Trey Stark on The Young and the Restless and Sebastian Dupre on Port Charles.
