In tonight’s #TheGoldenBachelor episode we saw last week ended on a cliffhanger. Gerry couldn’t choose who to give his last rose to. He didn’t know if he should give it to Theresa or Faith. He had already given a rose to Leslie by that, but he just has the two roses and was tearing himself apart by trying to make a choice.
It was visibly clear that he was struggling with anxiety as well. He didn’t want to make the wrong choice. He was struggling to breathe much less look at the two women and so tonight took a break from him. They bought him time. The show instead decided to do their Women’s Tell-All. And boy did the women Gerry rejected have something to say.
Sure, there were some that were upset. There were also others that were glad to have used this experience to grow. These women were far more mature than the average twenty year olds that are usually casted for “the Bachelor”. They’ve all lived lives. They have children. They have pets. They have careers.
They know who they are and they’ve never hidden it. April was asked about her kiss with Gerry and what her grandkids thought about it and she said that they had asked her to reel it in before the show. She felt she reeled it too far in because she didn’t get the guy.
Everyone also got a chance to laugh when they saw the clip that April faked a pickleball injury. It got her an extra cuddle with Gerry and so she didn’t regret a single thing. None of them did.
Kathy looks back now at her situation with Theresa. She firmly believes that maybe they should have both zipped it, but she was a straight shooter and she knows that she and Theresa are good. There were also more laughs when Susan’s past gastric issues were shown. She had eaten guacamole everyday for two days and it gave her terrible gas.
The only other thing she had eaten was meatballs. Only Susan has been eating her meatballs for a lifetime. She said that guacamole was the silent killer and she actually had to warn Gerry about it during her time on the show, but they all had to make sacrifices. Joan’s story was shown.
She had a daughter that just had a baby fifteen days before she left to meet Gerry. She heard from her daughter that she was needed and so she gave up what she had with Gerry to go back into Momma Bear mode.
Joan was a frontrunner before she left. She and Gerry were truly building something only their timing was off. Her daughter was suffering from postpartum depression. It was a tough time for the family. Joan was needed at home and so she made the hard decision to give up on Gerry. She was still happy though to have joined the show. She said a lot of women in her age group felt invisible. They’re often treated like they were by society and meeting Gerry and just having him listen to her had given her hope for the future.
There was also Ellen. Ellen began developing feelings for Gerry. She told him that she loved him and she sadly didn’t get a rose. She could have gotten angry. She could have gotten upset. She didn’t do either of those things because this whole experience taught that she could love again and she wouldn’t trade that for the world. Ellen’s best friend died of cancer before the premiere. Her friend never got to watch the show and so tonight everyone honored her friend. They even brought in the late Roberta’s daughter, Courtney. And Courtney thanked everyone for their kind condolences.
Then Gerry was brought out. Gerry dated these women. He kissed a lot of these women and so he was asked how his granddaughter felt about that. And Gerry laughed. He said he couldn’t pass up kissing these beautiful women. It was a once in a lifetime experience only it had to come to an end. Gerry’s decision was finally shown. He chose Theresa over Faith. Which shocked everyone. They saw Gerry tell Faith he loves her. She was the only one he said that to and so her not getting the rose or going into the finale was a shocker.
There were literal gasps from the audience. Faith has such a history with being unloved. She finally began to hope with Gerry and to make matters worse her family also began to hope as well. They saw that Faith was so happy. Her sons were happy for her. They really wanted this to work out and it was gut-retching that it didn’t. Usually, the runner up gets named the Bachelorette but Faith absolutely should become the next bachelorette for their Golden spinoff. She deserves to find love. Maybe having a group of guys competing to be her love interest is what she deserves by now.
Faith had so many walls up. When she brought them down for Gerry, the least he could have done was not string her along. He told her he loved her. Why say that if you don’t mean it? Faith was so numb after she didn’t get a rose that she remained calm even in the car. She only cried tonight. She cried. Gerry cried. Even Jesse cried. It just didn’t make sense. Did he want to keep Theresa around because he is in love with her or he thinks she’ll be hurt less when he chooses Leslie at the end? Who can tell at this point!
And so next week was going to be eve more of an emotional rollercoaster!
