In tonight’s The Rookie episode, John and the gang are told that the murderer Oscar who stabbed Wesley will be in the hospital to donate a kidney. They will need to ensure he doesn’t do anything funny and that no one comes to the hospital to retaliate.
Meanwhile, Lucy and Tim are on duty together. Lucy doesn’t know how they will act professionally given their new romance. She begins to test Tim who slips at correcting her cop behaviors. She points this out to him. He tells her not to do the Tim test on him.
John and his partner visit Oscar. He tells him he is doing this for his daughter but she tells them he is extorting her for more. At least she is getting a kidney from the deal. John tells her how sorry he is. John’s partner tells him she has a premonition that Oscar is going to die. Meanwhile, Angela and Harper are working on a case together. They are on a stakeout.
John and his partner hear commotion from Oscar’s room. A man is in there trying to choke him. He is an enemy. They pull him off of Oscar. They find out the man works at the hospital. And now he is out of a job. They then see Oscar’s daughter’s boyfriend who looks like he may have just done drugs in a hospital bathroom.
Lucy and Tim release a prisoner. Before he leaves he tells him he is missing earrings. Lucy screwed up. She tells Tim she lost the earrings and he needs to report her. He doesn’t want to do that.
Angela tells Harper on their stakeout that she might be pregnant and she doesn’t know what to do. They see their target and follow them, ending the conversation.
John’s partner Selena sees Oscar’s daughter’s boyfriend go into a room. She enters to see what he is up to. She catches him doing drugs. He falls to the ground and seizes. John comes in. After they get him to help they inform Oscar’s daughter who is upset. She picked a guy just like her dad.
Angela and Harper end up outside a club. They plan to move on to their criminal when the time is right. They reminisce about their old lives.
John and Selena plan to stay the night at the hospital after all the trouble. Meanwhile, Lucy canceled her date with Tim. She has a lot to think about when it comes to working with Tim.
John finds Oscar’s daughter packing. She has had it. She doesn’t want her Dad’s kidney. John talks her into staying while Selena talks to Oscar about her premonition and how he needs to take her seriously.
Harper learns that Angela has been lying to her. They have been following Elijah and a man named Serrano. Angela shouldn’t be there. She gets out of the car and comes face to face with a man that she notices has been following her. He works for Elijah.
Tim visits Lucy. She admits she took the earrings and then returned them. They do need to figure out their situation. He accepts that he has been letting things slide.
John and Selena are told Oscar will go to surgery in a few hours. They both notice the doctors are acting strange. Meanwhile, Lucy tells Tim she plans to leave the precinct for another unit.
John gets one of the doctors alone. She tells him three men are holding her family hostage. She needs to kill Oscar in surgery. Selena keeps the dirty doctor busy by telling him she thinks she has cancer. In the elevator, the dirty doctor comes clean. He is a criminal and Oscar got his brother killed. They radio Lucy and Tim to go to the doctor’s house. They arrive and enter the house through the back. It’s quiet. Tim finds one man with a taped mouth. Lucy gets the other man. Oscar heads to surgery.
Oscar makes it out of surgery. He tells John and Selena he has a new outlook. John tells him he needs to stop extorting his daughter. Oscar offers to rat a few people out.
Angela apologizes to Harper for lying. She admits she is scared of Elijah. Tim and Lucy end their partnership. Angela goes home and tells Wesley she is pregnant. He is happy! Tim tells the captain about him and Lucy. He takes a new job, a desk job. He tells Lucy. She cannot believe he did that.
