Celina is at her sister Blanca’s grave, she tells her she is sorry she hasn’t been there lately, she was working on her case. She hasn’t made progress, except for destroying her relationship with their mom.

At the station, Lopez wants to speak to Juarez about what could be a serial killer who targets the children of drug addicts and all the killings happened on the same day, today. Nolan tells her he will speak to her.

Smitty tells Chen that she won’t pass the exam, somebody has it out for her so no matter how well she does on the written, they are going to sink her on the oral. But, he doesn’t know who. Harper tells Chen she will look around to see if there is any truth to it.

Nolan tells Juarez about the possible serial killer. She says she visited her sister’s grave today and felt like she wasn’t there. They got a call, a possible kid napping.

Chen is trying to figure out who it could be who has it in for her, she discusses it with Thorsen who tells her not to believe everything Smitty says.

Juarez and Nolan arrive at the address, the mother is frantic and she says her daughter is gone, she heard a scream and then she vanished. Her daughter’s name is Olivia, Juarez tries to calm her down. Juarez thinks it is the same guy but Harper tells her she can see the parallels but they have to keep an open mind. Turns out, Olivia’s mom has a history of drug abuse. Bailey shows up, she tells Nolan she thought he could use some extra hands and she couldn’t relax.

At the station Grey has a visitor, it is detective Dave Delgado who says he was excited to hear they had a lead on the Juarez file. Grey says they need to know anything that was not in the file. Delgado says there was this one guy, Drew Hezlov, he was in the neighbourhood and had no alibi, a sex-offender, a real creep that looked like he was enjoying it.

Juarez is looking outside the house where Olivia was taken when Chambers shows up, he was one of the cops who helped look for her sister.

Smitty calls Chen and tells her not to worry about the exam, he is on it.

Thorsen and Chen go to check out Hezlov, he lives a mile from Olivia’s house. Chen finds a doll and she reminds him that the rules of his probation that he is not supposed to be in possession of children’s toys.

Something doesn’t sit well with Nolan about Chambers, why he just showed up there today. He looked into him and he had a daughter, lost custody of her when she was six years old, the same age as the missing girls and today is his daughter’s birthday. Harper agrees, there is something off about Chambers.

Nolan asks Juarez how well she knows Chambers, she says not personally. He tells her about his losing his daughter at age 6 and that today is her birthday. She is furious, she tells him that he is wrong, he didn’t do this and he is the reason why she is a cop.

Harper sits down with Chambers at the station, Nolan looks over and sees that he has on different shoes. He answered a call about a month ago at Olivia’s house, there was a disturbance because of her mother’s boyfriend. She brings up the fact that he helped with the search for Celina’s sister, he says yes.

Celina’s mom Carla is in the station, Nolan asks her about Chambers and she says he checks in on her from time to time. She says about a month before Blanca got taken, Chambers found her passed out in her car, she begged him not to take her in, she had to get back to Celina and Blanca. He sat in his car and he watched them play. She was so grateful that he didn’t arrest her, she wonders if that is the reason he took Blanca, because of her.

Harper is still with Chambers, she mentions his meeting Carla before the day Blanca was taken, he says he forgot.

Outside Hezlov’s place they find Olivia’s teddybear, they arrest him. Harper is still worried about Chambers, he seems sketchy. Harper says anyone could have buried that teddy bear in Hezlov’s backyard.

Harper goes back to see Chambers and tells him they got him, Hezlov is arrested and they found Olvia’s teddybear in his backyard.

Harper tells Grey that she is positive it is Chambers. When she told him about Hezlov, he never asked about Olivia because she is convinced that he knows where she is.

The team is following Chambers, they see him pass a gym back to another man. Bradford thinks Chambers knows he is being followed and wants to split the team. Next, Chambers approaches a motorcycle, and gets on it. He picks up speed, he reaches 120 on small streets. Bradford shuts down the chase, it is too risky, someone could get hit.

Back at the station, Juarez is furious that Chambers got away. Nolan tells her that Bradford did what he had to. Chambers is a cop and he used their technique in the case against them.

Chen says they went over all of Chambers hours he logged in the last few months. Six weeks ago he cleared some squatters out of a foreclosed home, low income area, you can easily get in and out and it is near’s Olivia’s home.

Chambers is in the house, he goes in the bedroom and Olivia is laying on a mattress on the floor, she appear to be out of it. The team arrives, they throw in a ball with a camera and can see that Chambers is inside. Nolan goes close with protection and shouts to Chambers that they want to resolve this with nobody getting hurt. Olivia wakes up, she speaks and Nolan hear his voice. Juarez calls Chambers and tells him she is outside. He says her parents didn’t deserve her, he just wants to be a father again.

He gave them a better life than they ever had and they want to go back to drug addicts. She agrees with him, they need a father who can keep them safe, like him. Chambers says he is not leaving, he trusts nobody. She tells him it is over, end it by protecting her, he hangs up on her. The front door opens, Chambers let Olivia go, Juarez runs to her. The team then breach the house Bradford finds him in a bedroom with his gun and tells him to drop it, a shot goes off, Bradford had no choice.
