In tonight’s #TheVoice episode Mara chose to join Team John. Singing with him was great. They made a perfect duet together. It also reminded Mara that John’s style was very much like her own. She originally was set on picking Reba and John changed her mind. The others just have to up their game. Next up was Ruby Leigh. She was from a small town. She came out in cowboy boots and the whole attire to match. She performed “I Wanna Be Cowboy’s Sweetheart”. She was a true Country musician only she proved tonight she could also yodel. Thereby showing off some Western influences. Ruby showed amazing talent tonight. She completely won over all four judges and so she was like Mara. She was a rare four chair turn.

Ruby has an amazing talent. But there was only one coach that was made for Ruby. It was Reba. It will always be Reba. Reba even yodel tonight to show that she knew the Country Western theme. She won over Ruby and Ruby joined her team before getting to enjoy some tater tots. Reba was handing out free tater tots to anyone who makes her team. She was also learning to fight amongst dirty players. Niall may have had a giant foam finger. Reba on the other hand had the whole audience rooting for her and wearing Reba’s signature hair cutouts.

The blind auditions continued with Juliette Ojeda. She was from Miami. She grew up with a Cuban heritage and a lot of Cuban experiences. Which was why she decided to perform “Hopelessly Devoted to You” in both English and Spanish. She put a Latin flair to it. She gave it a new dynamic. She also put on a wonderful performance by dancing and just plainly enjoying herself. She was a great performer. She has the stage presence to match. There were there things she needed to work on except the judges were willing to help.

The only one that didn’t turn for Juliette was John. Something he might come to regret because a bilingual singer is a rarity in this competition. Juliette ultimately chose to join Gwen’s team. Gwen was willing to work with her to make her a threat amongst the contestants and her team was quickly filling up. John has an extra spot open. He only has two members on his team at the time. The others had three and they all were looking for the best of the best. Next up was Julia Roome. She was the youngest person tonight at just thirteen.

Julia auditioned with “Dream A Little Dream Of Me”. She has an old fashioned voice. It was very unique in a sense. Niall loves unique voices and so he was the first to turn for her. Gwen also turned for her, but Julia loves Niall. She’s a huge fan of his and she wasn’t going to choose anyone else over him. Julia joined Niall’s team. Then came Ayvio. Ayvio was a substitute teacher. He started doing music around 2019 because he was raising a family and he didn’t think now was the time to pursue a dream. And so it had been his family to encourage him to follow his music.

They love him. They see that he comes alive when he’s performing, and they wanted the best for him. Ayvio auditioned with “Forget You”. Only tonight wasn’t his best performance. He wasn’t showing that fire that attracted the coaches. Hence none of them turned. It was a bummer for Ayvio. He can always try again next year and with a different song. It’s often the song choice that sells the voice to the judges. They loved Mara because she took a huge risk with an Elton John’s song and that’s how came to notice her talent.

Next up was Jenna Marquis. She auditioned with “Teenage Dirtbag”. She has that passion and that passion quickly won over most of the judges. Three of them turned for her. Reba was the sole person that did not. It was up to the three that did turn to fight for her. They all spoke of her skill as well as the influences they heard in her voice. They all showed admiration for her. Even Reba. Jenna could have gone with anyone and she chose Gwen tonight. Gwen was now matched with Niall in that they both have four people on their team.

Ephraim Owens was next. He operates a large machine that mixes over six hundred pounds of cement, but he grew up in a musical household. His family mostly sang at church. Only his wife was making him brave enough to take the leap tonight. He auditioned with “Beneath Your Beautiful”. He added a rocker vibe to it. He also displayed a smooth voice. He was another rare four chair turn. They all wanted him. His toddler daughter went running to him after his performance and he was holding her as he joined Team John.

He even got the Team John’s jacket.

THE END!
