Tonight’s The Walking Dead: Dead City episode begins with Maggie and Negan, they escape a the basement of the building before the walkers burst through a door. They are climbing an elevator shaft, they are chasing a woman named Esther who leads them to a window ledge, they have to zip line across to another building to catch up with her. Maggie is struggling, she looks down and sees tons of walkers, Megan wants to help her but she won’t take his hand, she wants to cross on her own.
Elsewhere, Nina is walking the grounds with Ginny who goes over to where other children are in school and she is introduced as to being from Oceanside.
Megan and Maggie finally catch up with Esther, its the bag that they want. Negan asks Esther if she can take them to a building across the way that is burning, she tells them in Hebrew, no – but leads them on.
One of the Marshall’s men is still alive, but he is caught in the basement with a whole bunch of walkers.
Esther leads Negan and Maggie to Tommasa and Amaia who are heavily armed, Esther tries to calm them down. Maggie guests they are not with Croat. Tommasa says they own the city. Maggie says they want no trouble, they are looking for supplies and heading to Canada. Negan and Maggie give up their weapons and the bag.
Maggie and Megan are brought to a man named Luther to check their bag while Tommasa leads them into a bathroom that is really dingy and dirty.
Nina is with Ginny, she tells her she tells her to eat something and if she needs anything to find her.
Flashback to Maggie speaking to Herschel, she is upset that he missed weapons training again. She looks down at a drawing that he did of a superhero and tells him it is good, he grabs it and crumples it, leaves the room and says he is going over to Xanders. She picks up the sketch.
Back to Negan and Maggie in the bathroom, he tells her that they have no choice but to give up their weapons. He tells her they should have told the truth why they are there. He says right around the time when the world turned to shit Croat showed up at his door, so to speak.
He had been through some really bad stuff, worse than imaginable, so he took him in. Pretty soon he was calling Megan his brother and said that he made him feel safe. He really thought he was helping him. Negan says he was only a monster when he had to be to protect his people.
Croat has a way of reading people, toying with them. Croat was his torturer but he took it too far. He gave a direct order for him to leave a drifter alone but he didn’t, and it was horrible, he knew Croat was a rabid dog that had to be put down, he tried, he had one shot and he missed, he got away. So, if they do happen upon Croat he is going to want to kill Megan.
The Marshall for the new Babylon Federation, Gritz has made his way to an apartment where it looks like he lived at one time. He goes from room to room, he finds in one, a dead man who hasn’t turned. He picks up some prayer beads from the floor, then drapes a blanket over the dead man and places the beads over his lap. He picks up a gun a goes to leave but there are walkers at the door, so he goes out the window and down the fire escape to safety. All of a sudden, he is trapped, he walked over a net that whips him up a couple of floors high, trapped.
Megan and Maggie are ushered out of the bathroom by Tommasa, outside everyone looks frantic from the Buraz, Megan says they are not with them, they are there to help. Vehicles pull up, Amaia gives Megan and Maggie back their weapons and the bag, shouts let’s go. The Buraz come in, they are wearing helmets that cover their faces. Negan and Maggie tire to stay out of sight, they go through a stair case and find Tommasa and Amaia fighting some Buraz and help. On the roof, one Buraz has Esther, he strikes her with something and Megan god after the guy, rips his Helmut off but its too late, he killed Esther.
Megan takes the Buraz back inside, he smashes a window with his head, so the others down below see him. Maggie is out of sight watching. Megan slashes the Buraz’s neck and pours the blood below. Megan says if he sees them again, it will be hurricane of blood, then he throws the Buraz overboard.
Ginny is in bed, she looks over at her plate of food, pus some in her bag, she is dressed and is sets out She waits until the coast is clear, sees a motor bike and gets on it.
Megan got some shards in his hand by bashing the Buraz’s head in the glass windows. He and Maggie are with Tommasa, Amaia and the rest of their people. Amaia thanks them for their help. She would like to return the favour, but they have no supplies. Croat has a nickname, Van Gough, Maggie tells them that he has her son.
Gritz is still stuck in the net some Buraz drive by, kill the walkers under it and speaking Croatian, they let him down. One of them takes off his Helmut, it is Croat and he tells Gritz he is safe now.
