The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, January 20, teases that Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will bring Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) some morning sickness remedies ahead of their pitch to Jill Abbott (Jess Walton).
When Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) shows up to wish them luck, he’ll see that Sally’s looking sick again in her robe.
Nick will end up talking to Sally alone and wondering if there’s more to this stomach bug than she’s told him.
When Sally realizes Nick suspects it’s morning sickness, she’ll admit she’s pregnant and talk about how she didn’t want to tell him until she was sure.
Sally will get emotional over this news changing everything and will be too overwhelmed to really think about it.
After Sally asks Nick to live in denial with her for now, he’ll assure her that they’ll figure this out and will give her a hug.
At the Abbott house, Summer Newman-Abbott Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will get updates on how Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) pulled off their plan, which resulted in a framed Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) arrest.
Kyle will still seem nervous about the situation while Summer complains about the broken laws and how all this went down.
Jack will think they did what they had to do for Diane’s sake – and Diane will insist they can all go back to their normal lives now.
At Crimson Lights, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will be deep in thought when Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) finds him, so he’ll explain Stark case and his concerns about it.
Jeremy seemingly changed his MO since he’d never been taken down for a burglary before.
Plus, Chance will find it odd that only one necklace was missing when Jeremy could’ve grabbed more from the safe.
All the explanations surrounding this will be too neat and tidy, so it’ll remind Chance of the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) case.
Although Chance did everything by the book, he’ll wonder if that’s enough and consider whether Jeremy will get a fair trial.
Chance will seem rather fed up with his career due to cases of bent justice and all the questions he’s being forced to ask.
Sharon will understand that everything isn’t always black and white, but she’ll also get that maybe Chance isn’t willing to tolerate the same things he used to tolerate.
When Sharon asks Chance what other career path he might choose, he’ll struggle since he’s always been involved in public service.
Sharon will throw out some silly options and get Chance laughing, so he’ll hate to leave when the Chicago PD follows up about the case.
However, Sharon will vow to be there thinking of more career options and will gaze at Chance as he goes.
Chance will gaze back at Sharon as romantic music plays, so Y&R definitely seems to be building a love match here.
Back at the Abbott house, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will arrive since Jack was in touch about the Chicago break-in.
Jack will mention Jeremy being responsible and think this could’ve been a lot worse since he’s such a dangerous criminal.
Diane will suggest it’s ironic that Nikki’s misfortune worked out in her favor now that Jeremy is gone, so Nikki will seem suspicious.
At one point, Jack will act like Jeremy may have stolen the necklace to set up Diane.
There’ll also be questions about how Jeremy even got past the security system.
Nikki will recall that she hasn’t changed the code in years and was using it back when Jack used to take her there.
As far as bypassing the alarm system goes, Chance will admit that’s still a mystery when he joins the conversation.
Chance will also note that Jeremy is still loudly proclaiming his innocence.
Jack will declare that Jeremy is anything but innocent and will call him a criminal who can’t be trusted.
“Yeah, unlike the upstanding citizens of Genoa City who always play by the rules,” Chance will suggest sarcastically.
After Nikki leaves, Chance will reveal that Jeremy was arraigned in Chicago and that the judge has denied bail.
Since Jeremy was no amateur and had so much to lose, Chance will think it’s odd that he was careless enough to leave reading glasses behind while committing grand larceny.
Once Chance asks if there’s anything else they need to tell him, Jack will act like they have nothing to add and will suggest Jeremy was furious over Diane refusing to play his game.
Chance will contend that it’s his job as law enforcement to handle men like Stark – “not people who think their wealth and their position give them carte blanche to maneuver any situation to their benefit.”
Jack will think the judge and Chicago PD found everything to be above board, so now they’re proceeding accordingly.
Chance will mutter that it looks that way and will see himself out.
Afterward, Chance will meet back up with Sharon to express frustration after the conversation he just had.
It’ll leave Chance even more fed up with his job, so he’ll insist he can’t do this anymore.
Back with Jack and Diane on Friday’s Y&R episode, they’ll share a romantic moment downstairs before making love in the bedroom.
At Jabot, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will clash with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), who won’t buy any of the fake excuses for his dad’s upcoming visit with Kyle.
Adam will know this is about humiliating him and will suggest Victor is manipulating Kyle into an attempt to give him the heave-ho.
Of course, Summer won’t think Adam needs help to get pushed out the door.
If history is any indication, Summer will believe Adam is more than capable of ruining things on his own with no help from anyone.
Meanwhile, Victor will talk to Kyle about Diane and how he should’ve severed all ties with her.
That said, Victor will get that it’s complicated and hard to break family bonds.
Kyle will finally entertain the notion of pushing Adam out of the company, so he’ll wonder what that plan would look like.
Victor will need Kyle to make sure Adam takes a big fall.
That way, Adam will realize he made a mistake working at Jabot and will be more receptive to a new opportunity to make things right.
After Victor says he needs Kyle’s help to facilitate that, Kyle will note that he’d like something in return.
That’ll leave Victor wondering what exactly Kyle wants.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Kyle will drive a hard bargain, but Victor certainly seems willing to strike a deal!
