The Young and the Restless preview video for the week of August 7 to August 11 features Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) sobbing as she begs the judge to go easy on her. There is also a scene showing Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) trying to convince herself that Phyllis deserves to pay the price. Summer seems uncertain, though.
Phyllis Summers’ Sobbing Plea
Y&R spoilers reveal that the preview video begins with Phyllis seated before a judge.
Phyllis will sob and wail as she begs the judge to understand her predicament. Phyllis will bring up how she was coerced, manipulated and threatened by Jeremy Stark (James Hyde).
At the same time, Phyllis tells the judge that she took a man’s life, and she can’t take that back.
Of course, Phyllis knows she has to express remorse in order to get the judge to go easy on her. Will the judge believe Phyllis, though?
Y&R Spoilers: Christine Blair Williams’ Declaration
Also standing before the judge is Christine, who wants Phyllis to be punished for her crime. Christine and Phyllis have a lot of history.
Recent flashback scenes have reminded veteran fans and educated newer viewers about the complicated dynamic.
Christine is direct, outspoken and filled with tenacity as she tries to convince the judge that Phyllis must be punished. The judge’s verdict isn’t shown in the promo.
However, at the end of the promo, Phyllis talks to someone on a landline in her hotel room. Phyllis talks about how everything is going to change.
Summer Newman-Abbott’s Decision
The Young and the Restless spoilers for the week of August 7 reveal that the preview also shows Summer and Daniel Romalotti Jr (Michael Graziadei).
Summer and Daniel are waiting for Phyllis’ verdict to come in. Summer says out loud that her mother needs to pay the price for her crimes.
While sitting in a chair and listening to Summer, Daniel stays silent.

The most interesting part of the preview video isn’t verbal, though. It is the body language and facial expression of Summer.
When Summer talks about her mother needs to pay the price, her voice shakes a bit.
Then, Summer’s hands nervously tap on the desk while her foot bounces. The facial expression and look in Summer’s eyes scream uncertainty and doubt.
Summer doesn’t have the power to change the judge’s verdict. However, could Summer’s uncertainty compel her to make another type of bold move?
