The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers preview video for the week of January 1-5 reveals that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will continue to struggle with her feelings for Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). Of course, Chance and Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) relationship is holding Summer back from fully pursuing her own romance with him.
However, Summer doesn’t know how serious Sharon and Chance are at this point. Since Summer might still have an opening to steal Chance away, she needs to have all the facts.
That’s why Summer will have an awkward conversation with Sharon and fish for answers about her romantic rival’s true feelings.
Summer will ask if Sharon is in love with Chance and hope to get a better sense of how deep this relationship is.
Sharon doesn’t look amused by the question in Y&R’s weekly preview video, so she may spin things around on Summer and push her to be honest about her agenda here.
Over with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), he’ll suspect Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) betrayal and call his son out on some troubling things he’s witnessed.
Danny will suggest that Daniel’s got Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) playing matchmaker for her parents – not to mention he can see the way Daniel and Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) look at each other.
Of course, Danny may understand Daniel’s situation awfully well since his own storyline has involved drama with two former flames.
Danny knew he had to shut Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) down to preserve his chance with Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), so he may think Daniel needs to do the same with Heather – that is if he still wants a future with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Perhaps Danny will also consider the possibility that Daniel wants to reunite with Heather deep down, especially if Daniel admits their New Year’s Eve kiss.
Either way, Danny may think Daniel needs to be certain about his path forward before he blows the good thing he’s got going with Lily.
This can only end in disastrous news if Daniel continues down the road of betrayal.
At the ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will hold Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) in his arms and make a promise. Victor has stood by Nikki through tough times in the past, so he’ll plan to do it again.
“I didn’t walk out on you then and I will not now. You are the love of my life,” Victor declares in Y&R’s weekly promo.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Victor will do whatever it takes to make sure Nikki conquers her latest sobriety crisis, so stay tuned for updates on her next steps.
