The Young and the Restless Recap: Friday, April 21 – Jack Demands Diane's Home Release with Ankle Monitor

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, April 21, teases that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will take Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle) to Society since Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) invited them for a girls’ lunch.

Once Tessa and Mariah head inside with Aria, they’ll find out it’s a surprise baby shower instead. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), Abby, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will all have some heartfelt words for the blissful mothers.

Mariah and Tessa will also make speeches about how supportive everyone has been during their adoption journey.

Even though they chose to be Aria’s moms, Tessa will think Aria chose to be their daughter on some cosmic level.

At Jabot, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will confront Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about Marchetti’s operational budget, so Kyle will defend the numbers and point out that he has total autonomy.

After Billy makes a pitch about merging Jabot and Marchetti’s advertising campaigns, Kyle will shut down the suggestion since it could dilute Marchetti as an exclusive brand.

Kyle will blast Billy for coming in on his first day and acting like he can solve problems that aren’t even there.

However, Kyle will ultimately acknowledge that Billy’s trying to distract him with stupid ideas and will grumble out his gratitude as he leaves for lunch.

Soon after, Kyle will arrive at Society and realize the baby shower’s in progress.

Abby will admit she was hesitant to invite Kyle after all the bad news related to Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) murder case.

Kyle won’t really be in the mood for a party due to Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) arrest and Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) insistence that his mom is guilty, but he’ll step aside with Mariah for a moment.

Mariah will thank Kyle for the baby clothes that were sent while they were in Portland and offer support if he needs anything.

After Mariah extends that support to Summer as well, Kyle will express concern about the fate of his marriage.

Next on Friday’s Y&R episode, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will meet with Diane in the jail visiting area, but she’ll warn him to stop coming. Although Jack will refuse to abandon Diane, she’ll act like he’d just be honoring her request.

The sight of Jack will only make Diane think about how much she’s lost, but Jack will assure Diane that she hasn’t lost him.

Diane will insist there’s a good chance she’s going to prison for murder, so she’ll think it’s best for Jack and Kyle to get used to her not being around.

Once Diane is in a maximum-security prison for many years to come, she won’t want Jack, Kyle or Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) visiting her there.

That’s why Diane will think it’s best for Jack to go ahead and start moving on, but he’ll insist he can’t do that and will vow to keep fighting for her freedom.

Diane will ultimately cut the visit short and ask to be taken back to her cell, so Jack will throw a chair in frustration.

At Crimson Lights, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will talk to Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) about his belief that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) has to be connected to Diane and the plot to murder Phyllis.

Christine will need more than Chance’s gut feeling to charge Stark, but Chance will suggest pressuring Diane to flip on him and offering an incentive.

Chance will think Diane could lead them to Jeremy’s hideout if they planned to meet up there later.

Although Christine will act like a deal for leniency would be a nonstarter with a crime of this magnitude, she’ll suggest a reduced sentence is possible when Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) arrives.

Michael will think it’s obvious that the DA and the GCPD have fallen for Stark’s planted proof, so he’ll refuse to make any sort of plea deal on Diane’s behalf.

Instead, Michael will vow to take this to trial if necessary – and he’ll warn that Christine is going to lose.

Michael will also insist they should stop pressuring Diane to confess to a murder she didn’t commit and investigate the “damn crime.”

After Chance takes off, he’ll return to the jazz lounge and look pensive over the crime scene.

Once Christine decides she’s done bickering with Michael, she’ll let him know that her door is always open when Diane’s ready to confess.

Michael will insist he’ll see Christine in court, so she’ll prepare to leave right as Jack blows in the coffeehouse demanding a new bail hearing for Diane.

After Jack says Diane isn’t doing well behind bars, he’ll declare that she’s innocent and will refuse to do nothing.

Jack will be willing to personally pay for any bail amount and will suggest Diane could wear an ankle monitor. If they want to post an officer to watch over Diane around the clock, Jack will pay his salary.

“Get something done now, Michael,” Jack will snap. “Diane has to come home!”

Back at Jabot, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will surprise Billy with some Chinese takeout for lunch, so he’ll eat with her and admit things are going well at work.

Although Chelsea will wish things were progressing faster at the gaming platform, she’ll know it’s just a bump in the road.

Chelsea will tell Billy that they helped each other through some rough times and are finally getting their lives together.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy and Chelsea could face some other obstacles eventually, so stay tuned for updates on any challenges that might arise.
