The Young and the Restless Recap: Friday, July 21 – Adam’s Plan Pushes Audra Out of Newman Media

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, July 21, reveals that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will face some butterflies ahead of her first day at Marchetti, but she’ll feel better after Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) offer a pep talk and a good luck charm bracelet featuring hardworking bees.

At the GCAC, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will confront Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) and wonder if Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) was a random hookup or someone Audra set her sights on due to his money.

Audra will note that she’s got money of her own and won’t see the point in Summer trying to figure out how this started.

Summer will argue that she’s still married to Kyle, but Audra will think he has freewill to make his own choices.

After Summer brings up the fact that she’s raising a son with Kyle, Audra will act like she’s using Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) to justify her anger over Kyle moving on.

According to Audra, Summer thought she could do whatever she wanted and Kyle would be there waiting for her. Audra will think that if Kyle still wanted to be with Summer, then he would be.

Kyle will ask what’s going on when he arrives to find the pair bickering, but Summer will ultimately insult Audra’s cheap perfume before storming out.

Once Audra’s alone with Kyle, she’ll admit that nobody really knows what goes in in a marriage.

Audra will feel like it’s up to Kyle to decide if his relationship can be saved, so she’ll insist she can handle it if he hasn’t second thoughts about anything.

Kyle will hang around for a meeting that’ll eventually get canceled, so that’ll give him a chance to chat with Billy at the bar.

Billy will admit Kyle probably got out of Jabot at the right time considering all the feuding going on between Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson).

Kyle will feel like Jack should just let Ashley take what’s hers and walk away.

After Kyle touts the benefits of going down separate paths, Billy will get the feeling that he’s really talking about his marriage.

Kyle will make it clear that there’s nothing left to save when it comes to his relationship with Summer, so Billy will hope he finds what he’s looking for.

Once Summer joins Chelsea for a meeting, they’ll both express excitement about joining forces at Marchetti.

Since Summer will seem upset over what happened with Kyle, Chelsea will offer to listen if she wants to vent.

Summer will talk about how she was happy with Kyle until Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) came back to town and drove Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) over the edge.

That led to Summer being desperate to help Phyllis, so Chelsea will get that since she’s got a complicated mom and has been in jams as a result.

Summer will wish Kyle could understand that she was protecting her mom and will hate how this situation affects Harrison.

After Summer gives Chelsea updates on Kyle sleeping with Audra, she’ll open up about all the unanswered questions she has.

Chelsea will point out that it’s hard to let go of the vision you had for the future. However, sometimes things are just over and you have to accept that.

Chelsea will suggest that maybe Summer should take Kyle at his word and focus on what she can control.

Summer will get some good advice as Chelsea pushes her concentrate on the present instead of the past.

At the jazz lounge, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will meet with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) to confirm he’s on board with becoming a power trio.

At the ranch, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be pleased over the news that Adam changed his mind and has decided to team up with Sharon and Nick after all.

On Friday’s Y&R episode, Adam will assure Victor that he’s all in, but he’ll have one requirement: six months of absolute free rein.

That’ll give Adam, Nick and Sharon a chance to show what they can do with Adustus International and Kirsten Incorporated following the merger.

After Sharon and Nick back Adam up, Victor will counter that three months is more than enough time to see their intent.

When Victor expresses lingering concerns about Adam going after Newman Media, Adam will insist he doesn’t want to wipe it out. Instead, Adam will want to put it all together and form one big happy company.

Adam will explain that he hopes to take Kirsten and fold it into Adustus. Then, they can take that entity and merge it with Newman Media.

That way, there won’t be any redundancies or competition.

Nick and Sharon will think Adam’s got the right idea, but Victor will put up a fight since Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is loyal to her people.

After Victor asks what happens to Audra now that she’s running Newman Media, Adam will argue that she’ll land on her feet somewhere else.

Besides, Adam won’t think Audra is trustworthy, so he’ll insist the woman is utterly expendable!

“We shall see,” Victor will reply as he mulls over Adam’s proposal.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Audra could be headed for a major downfall, so stay tuned!
