The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, May 5, teases that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will talk to Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) about Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) international jazz festival idea and how it led to him inviting Tucker to Neil Winters’ (Kristoff St. John) memorial party.
Devon will just hope that Tucker remembers to keep the focus on Neil tonight instead of himself.
At Society, Tucker will speak to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) about a surprise he’s got cooking up and will hope that it shows Devon that he’s serious about his desire to reconnect.
Although Ashley will admit she might’ve handled things a bit differently, she’ll also be hopeful about Tucker’s move working out for him.
Once Devon leaves the penthouse, Abby will get a visit from Ashley and admit she heard the news about Tucker moving in the Abbott mansion from Devon earlier.
Abby will ask what Ashley was thinking and will assume this is about her mom’s feud with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) over Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
However, Ashley will insist that wasn’t the primary reason and will act like she genuinely wants to give Tucker a chance.
Although Abby will think Ashley’s going to regret this, she’ll hope she’s proven wrong.
Ashley will hope that too and will also hope that this doesn’t come between them, so Abby will insist that it won’t.
Even so, there’ll be some lingering tension as Ashley heads out and lets Abby get ready for the party.
At the jazz lounge, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will look at some framed photos of Neil with his loved ones and flash back to a warm memory of one-on-one time with him.
Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will insist on attending the gathering to support Lily and pay tribute to Neil, so he’ll interact with several party guests – including Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes).
Mariah will wonder if it’s still weird for Daniel and Lily to look at her since she’s Cassie Newman’s (Camryn Grimes) twin, but Daniel will downplay the weirdness – even if he’s indeed reminded of Cassie whenever he sees Mariah.
When Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) tells Lily that she’s so sorry about Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines), Mariah will worry something happened to him.
It’ll be a false alarm since Sharon will insist Moses and Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) simply got stuck studying for finals.
Sharon will also join Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as they remember how Neil and Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) had a love story for the ages.
Back with Daniel, he’ll assure Abby that he’s OK following Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) “death.”
Abby will seem curious about Daniel’s relationship with Lily, but he’ll just call her a friend.
After Tucker and Ashley arrive on Friday’s Y&R episode, Devon and Lily will welcome everyone as they officially kick off the event.
Suddenly, Harmony aka Yolanda Hamilton (Chene’ Lawson) will appear and insist she’s so glad that she made it in time.
Devon will look overcome with joy as he reacts to his biological mother’s surprise arrival.
In Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) suite, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will seek updates on how her meeting with Victor went.
Sally will explain how it started off almost friendly before Victor bribed her with the promise of a successful business anywhere in the world – just as long as she leaves her baby behind with the real Newmans.
Angry Nick will seem ready to confront Victor over his behavior, but Sally will stop Nick from leaving and convince him to spoon her in bed instead.
After Sally admits that everything is better with Nick around, he’ll acknowledge that he feels the same way about her.
At Crimson Lights, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will talk to Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) about how it’s a good idea to tell Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) about the baby sooner rather than later.
Chelsea will point out that Connor’s set to return from soccer practice, so she’ll think there’s no time like the present.
Once Connor arrives, he’ll join Chelsea and Adam for a family meeting.
Adam will hint about adding another club member before mentioning that Sally is having a baby girl.
That’ll lead to Connor assuming he’ll have another cousin since Sally is a couple with Nick now.
Adam will have to correct Connor on that since he’s the baby’s father, which means Connor will be getting a little sister instead.
Connor will be confused, but Adam will insist that families come in all shapes and sizes.
Chelsea will also help Adam reassure Connor that their love for him will never change.
Connor will be eager to get upstairs and finish his homework, so it’ll be hard to read his reaction.
Although Connor won’t seem upset, he won’t exactly seem thrilled either.
After Connor heads up to the apartment, Adam won’t be sure whether that was good or bad, but Chelsea will suggest it could’ve gone worse.
Chelsea will think Connor will warm up to the idea eventually, so Adam will start picturing his happy family starting this big adventure.
When Chelsea mentions Nick, Adam will act like he’s included and will insist they’re all in this together.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Adam’s messy family situation will lead to some new curveballs as well, so stay tuned.
