The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, April 17, teases that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will talk about the evidence that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) somehow planted against Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).
Jack will blame himself for underestimating Jeremy and will double security since Stark has proven he’s capable of murder.
Kyle will plan to check on Diane at the police station while Jack continues to search for the right lawyer.
At the jazz lounge, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will find Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) deep in thought as he takes in the crime scene.
That’ll lead to Summer urging Chance not to get distracted looking for evidence against Stark.
Summer will insist that Diane is the reason Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is dead, but Chance will want to take Summer home instead of discussing the investigation.
When Kyle appears, he’ll suggest that Chance has done enough since he wrongfully arrested Diane and is filling Summer’s head with lies.
Kyle will call this borderline harassment and will warn Chance to stay away from his wife – or else he’ll find a way to make the detective pay!
At the motel, Jeremy will warn that if he’s faced with the choice of going back to prison or killing Phyllis, it’s not a choice at all.
Phyllis won’t be scared of Jeremy and will refuse to be like Diane, who let her child suffer thinking she was dead.
Jeremy will argue that Phyllis’ kids will just turn against her again if they find out she faked her demise and put them through all this.
Plus, Diane will be seen as the poor martyr while Phyllis ends up in prison herself.
After Phyllis pretends to understand she needs to start her life anew, Jeremy will announce that he’s decided to go with Phyllis to a tropical island.
Stark will add that he’s already arranged to send half of Phyllis’ money to his offshore account.
Phyllis will become alarmed at the idea of Jeremy joining her and will convince him it’ll blow up in their faces if he goes with her now.
Stark will vow to join Phyllis after Diane is convicted and will pull her close as he talks about the endless possibilities.
Phyllis obviously won’t be interested, but Jeremy will declare that they’re husband and wife now.
After Stark adds that Phyllis belongs to him, she’ll try to bolt for the door.
Jeremy will realize Phyllis was only pretending to see the light, so he’ll grab a pair of nearby scissors and suggest that she’s left him no choice.
Phyllis will cry out as Jeremy chases her into the bathroom, but Y&R will reveal a shocking twist by the end of the show.
On the floor, Jeremy’s dead body will be wrapped in a sheet as Phyllis picks up the bloody scissors and cleans them off.
Phyllis will have blood all over her hands and face as she tries to settle herself down.
Next, Phyllis will open the door and start dragging Jeremy’s body out of the motel room.
At Crimson Lights, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will find Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) having a pleasant conversation with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), so neither one of them will look happy about that.
Once Victor is alone with Adam, he’ll warn his son to stop pining over Sally since it’ll only bring pain and disappointment.
Adam will argue that he’s bonded to Sally for life, so Victor will seem confused about what he means.
After Adam says Sally is having his baby, he’ll note that he’s still in love with her.
Victor will wonder if Sally’s pregnancy is even legit, but Adam will insist that it is and will mention the paternity test.
Victor will find out that Nick already knows, so he’ll struggle to understand either son’s behavior.
Although Victor will want Adam to find a real direction for his life, Adam will act like both his children are giving him that.
In the end, Adam will stomp off and leave Victor looking frustrated.
Later, Sally will break the news to Nick that Adam will be attending her ultrasound appointment with them, so he obviously won’t be thrilled over her updates.
At Society, Jack will corner Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) and admit he’s struggling to nail down a lawyer for Diane, but she’ll be unable to offer help and will simply wish him luck.
Jack will ultimately call Michael Baldwn (Christian LeBlanc) since he might be Diane’s last chance at a good defense.
After Jack asks if there’s anything he can do to change Michael’s mind, he’ll deliver a heartfelt plea about how much Diane needs him.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Michael is set to reverse his decision and step up for Diane soon, so stay tuned.
