The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 31, reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will dream that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is berating her in her suite at the GCAC.
In Phyllis’ nightmare, Nick will offer to pay all her legal fees if she’s exonerated. In exchange, Nick will want Phyllis to leave town forever and will snap about how no one wants to see her again.
Once Phyllis wakes up startled, she’ll join Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) and Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) in the jazz lounge.
Phyllis will bring up Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) job offer, but Daniel and Summer will be wary considering Adam’s reputation.
It’ll leave Summer and Daniel concerned since Phyllis is trying to clean up her image.
However, Phyllis will admit she needs money and will refuse to accept handout jobs from her children.
After Phyllis suggests she can handle Adam, she’ll admit she’s mainly worried about his partners being Nick and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) – though Nick would be the real problem.
Summer will think Nick will forgive Phyllis eventually, so she’ll come around on the idea of her mom taking this job since it’d look good for the Newmans to get past what she did.
Phyllis will point out that none of this matters if she lands in a jail cell and will seem concerned about EMT Carson (Walter Belenky) coming through for her.
Nevertheless, Summer will push Phyllis to believe everything’s going to be OK and will take her hand as Daniel does the same.
Once Summer is alone with Daniel, they’ll suspect there might be a specific Carson problem that Phyllis isn’t sharing.
If Carson is lying, Summer will wonder what he’s getting out of this.
Summer will also question whether Phyllis is on board with perjury now, so Daniel will think there’s definitely more to the story.
At Crimson Lights, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will bring Aria Porter-Copeland (Millie and Maddie Ingle) by for a visit with Sharon.
As Aria sleeps in her stroller, Sharon will talk about her brand-new company and pitch the idea of Mariah coming to work for her.
Mariah could be the director of marketing, the vice president of marketing or whatever other title she thinks would be a good fit.
Sharon will also offer updates on Nick and Adam being her partners on this venture.
Next on Monday’s Y&R episode, Mariah will speak to Tessa alone about the pros and cons of leaving Jabot for this new opportunity.
Tessa will sense that Mariah really wants to work with her mom and create something special. Mariah will admit Tessa knows her so well before leaning in for a kiss.
At Society, Adam will give Nick the news about Victor pulling the rug out from under them and deciding to call the shots.
Nick will assume Adam ruined things for all of them and will complain about his ridiculous obsession with taking over Newman Media.
Since Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will be on a sudden business trip to Germany, Nick will think this is a test.
It’ll be a lose-lose situation since they’ll go against Victor’s orders if they move forward and look ineffective if they sit around waiting on him.
Adam will think they should call Victor’s bluff since it beats sitting on their hands. Nick will insist he’s not down with going after Newman Media, so Adam will ask what he proposes they do instead.
After Nick pitches the idea of a big launch that’ll create a splash, he’ll also warn Adam to change Adustus’ name to something less vengeful.
Nick will try to sell Adam on the idea of this being a chance to break free from all the drama of the Newman inner circle.
Once Sharon arrives, she’ll learn Nick is pushing Adam to change the name of Adustus and focus on shedding all the negativity.
Adam will ask if they honestly believe it’s possible for him to change, but Sharon will think he only pretends he’s irredeemable.
Even Nick will admit he’s seen glimpses of a real human being underneath the façade Adam puts up.
Adam will finally agree to concentrate on only positive energy from now on, but he won’t be able to make any promises.
After Adam admits he made a move without consulting Sharon and Nick, he’ll confess that he offered Phyllis a job as the head of IT.
That’ll leave Nick fuming since Phyllis broke Summer’s heart and is facing a serious trial.
Nick will demand to know what Adam was thinking, but Phyllis’ phone call will interrupt the conversation.
Phyllis will tell Adam that she’s decided to accept his job offer, but she’ll admit she’s going to need his help with something first.
