The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, May 8, teases that Harmony aka Yolanda Hamilton (Chene’ Lawson) will tell Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) that she was in Chicago wrapping up a conference when Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) contacted her about attending the party.
Harmony will point out that Tucker even sent a fancy car for her, so Devon will seem touched over the gesture.
After Devon praises Harmony for getting her degree, he’ll talk about how she’s been clean and sober for almost two decades.
Harmony will reflect on using her experience to help people in need and give back to the community as well.
Once Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) comes straight from the airport, he’ll cover up the real reason Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) couldn’t make it and try to keep the mood pleasant at the gathering.
After Victor makes a speech about Neil Winters (Christel Khalil) and what a great father he was, everyone will share a toast to Neil and his memory.
Over with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), she’ll feel like it was brave of Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) to come back to the jazz lounge after what happened to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) there.
Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will also offer support if Daniel ever needs to talk, so he’ll seem like he feels guilty over all the compassion he’s receiving.
When Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) joins Sharon at a table on Monday’s Y&R episode, she’ll need her mom to enlighten her on something.
Mariah will ask why Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is staring daggers at Harmony, so Sharon will explain that Tucker had “a moment” with Harmony while he was married to Ashley.
However, Ashley will manage to have a cordial moment with Harmony, who’ll think it’s great that Ashley and Tucker have found their way back to each other after so much pain and anger.
When Lily notices that Daniel seems pensive, she’ll assume he’s holding back and will know this must be about Phyllis. Daniel will confess that his conscience is bothering him, but he won’t be able to tell Lily why – nor will he know what to do.
Although Lily will have to leave for New York tomorrow, she’ll feel like whatever Daniel decides is going to be the right thing.
Back with Devon, he’ll thank Tucker for making sure Harmony came to the memorial party since that made the event even more special.
As the bash starts winding down, Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) will show up and admit he couldn’t pass up the chance to see everyone in one place while they remembered Neil.
Nate will end up talking about how supportive Neil was of him being a doctor and will wonder what Neil would think of him now.
After Malcolm gets confirmation that Neil is following his heart, he’ll act like Neil would never tear him down for that.
Next on Monday’s Y&R episode, Harmony will make an emotional speech about Neil being there for Devon and how he never stopped believing in him.
Devon will have a sudden realization of how he wants to honor Neil, so he’ll announce that he plans to take Neil’s last name and legally go by Devon Winters.
Harmony will approve of that decision along with Lily, Malcolm and Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway).
As Malcolm shares a group hug with Devon and Lily, they’ll admire Neil’s portrait together.
When Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) comes home to see Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) back at the Abbott house, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will explain that his mom’s out on bail.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will insist that Diane is innocent before Diane backs him up and promises she’s not responsible for what happened to Phyllis.
Summer will fire back that Diane is responsible since she set off a chain reaction that ripped her family apart.
Although Summer will settle down and suggest she’s happy for Kyle as well as Jack, she’ll refuse to be part of the celebration.
Diane will vow to avoid Summer as much as she considering she’s under house arrest with an ankle monitor.
Once Summer realizes Diane will be around constantly, she’ll lash out again and take off after receiving a text from Daniel.
Kyle will grow frustrated since Summer keeps taking off, so he’ll decide he needs to go find her and will head out the door.
In a moment alone with Jack, Diane will wonder how he’s holding up since he’s spent so much time supporting her.
Jack will think things will start turning around once they find out what really happened to Phyllis so that everyone can heal.
Daniel will seem a bit spooked when he hears something in the park, but it’ll just be Summer showing up for their meeting.
Summer will think it’s too risky to keep coming to that spot, but Daniel won’t care about her opinion and will insist on speaking his mind.
After Daniel rants about how guilty he feels with this huge lie hanging over him, he’ll refuse to do it anymore.
Daniel will declare that they’re going to tell everyone that Phyllis is alive, find her and bring her home!
