The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, June 22, reveals that Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will have a breakfast meeting with her book agent, Zelda Wilford (Kym Douglas), at the GCAC. That’ll give Traci a chance to open up to this longtime friend of the Abbott clan.
Traci will admit she’s worried about her family imploding and will explain that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is staging a coup in plain sight.
After Traci explains that Ashley and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) are feuding over their love interests, Zelda will push her to help them make peace.
Traci will realize Zelda is right, so she’ll decide to summon everyone for a family meeting.
At home, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will try to get Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to talk to her before he leaves for work.
Since Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) forgave her, Summer will hope that Kyle can understand how sorry she is and forgive her, too.
However, Kyle will point out that Summer refused to come to him with the truth about Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Instead, Summer slept in another room for weeks and shut Kyle out.
Now Kyle is the one who needs time and space, so Summer will relent and respect his wishes.
Once Kyle goes, Diane will appear and suggest she didn’t mean to eavesdrop. Summer will worry that she’s lost Kyle and will seek Diane’s help getting through to him.
Diane will agree to speak with Kyle again and will insist she’s rooting for their love, so Summer will express her gratitude.
At Crimson Lights, Jack will talk to an assistant named Emily about the press release announcing Diane’s promotion.
When Emily suggests a photo session and some headshots for Diane, Jack will approve the idea.
At Jabot, Ashley will tell Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) that she reached out to a couple additional board members and got them to agree Diane poses a threat.
Although Ashley will want to stop Diane before she does any real damage, Billy will feel like Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) is the only real support Ash has right now.
Ashley will feel confident she can get Traci to come around as well, but Billy will refuse to let Ashley oust Jack and will suspect Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) is using his sister.
When Jack shows up, he’ll bicker with Ashley again until Traci’s text messages demand their presence for an urgent meeting.
Since Jack will worry something might’ve happened with Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez), he’ll join Ashley and Billy in getting back to the house ASAP.
Zelda will stop by the Abbott mansion with Traci, so she’ll meet Diane as well as Summer before making herself scarce.
Once Zelda’s gone, Traci will ask Summer and Diane to step out so the Abbotts can discuss some family matters.
Jack will argue that Diane is part of this family just like Summer is, so Ashley will wonder if she should go get Tucker, too.
When another round of fighting kicks off, Traci will remind her siblings of John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) and will ask what he would think if he were there to see all the conflict.
Ashley will feel like John would be appalled over Jack bringing Diane back into his life.
Jack will fire back about how John would disapprove of Ashley being with Tucker, so the clashing will continue.
However, there’ll be some flashbacks involving John as a loving family man who believed in second chances and always showed how much he believed in his children.
Since Ashley won’t want to discuss John with Diane present, Diane will agree to leave – and Summer will decide to go with her.
After Traci asks how they get through this, Jack will admit that he hears John’s voice guiding him all the time. Ashley will feel like John is still in her heart as well, so there’ll be more flashbacks of supportive moments.
Since John hated when his children fought, Traci will be pleased when Jack and Ashley calm themselves for a real conversation.
Although Kyle can’t force Ashley to trust Diane any more than she can force Jack to trust Tucker, he’ll hope that maybe they can turn down the volume on their anger.
Traci will turn Kyle’s attention to Summer and wonder if maybe her guilt is punishment enough. Kyle won’t know if Summer feels bad about what she did or if she’s just upset that she got caught.
Traci will push Kyle to see that forgiveness takes time, but it’s worth it. Even so, Kyle won’t be ready to open his heart in that way – and he won’t be sure he’ll ever get there.
After Kyle exits, Jack will point out that you can’t force forgiveness. Someone has to want to fix things for it to work.
Traci will refuse to believe any child raised by John would choose anger over healing and will head back to the GCAC to say goodbye to Zelda before her flight.
Although Traci won’t know if her efforts made a difference, she’ll hug Zelda and hope for good news.
Back with Billy, he’ll tell Ashley and Jack that he loves them both. Billy will also respect his siblings no matter who they decide to marry, so he’ll want them to know that before he departs.
Once they’re alone, Jack will ask Ashley if they can get past this.
“I don’t know Jack. Can we?” Ashley will ask on Thursday’s Y&R episode.
As Ashley and Jack sit down to talk, there’ll be some flashbacks of John with his kids over the years. This tribute show will wrap up with a closeup of John’s framed photo.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Jack and Ashley will do their best to come together, so stay tuned for updates on their attempt.
