The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, October 5, reveals that Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) will arrive to find Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) at Society, where he’ll have candles set up for their romantic private party for two.
Jack will dance with Diane and get her to agree to renew their vows at their wedding celebration tomorrow.
Although Diane won’t think everyone will be convinced of their love, that won’t stop the happy duo from making it clear this is for keeps.
Over dinner, Diane will hint about Jack bringing Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) back to take Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) place at the company, but Jack won’t want to repair one relationship by destroying another.
Furthermore, Jack won’t want to take away Billy’s stability or give the public a sense of upheaval at Jabot.
After Jack shares his reasons for not removing Billy from the co-CEO spot, he’ll want to get back to the topic of his love for Diane and will share a toast with her.
At home later, Diane will thank Jack for their special evening before Jack insists they can handle anything together. Jack and Diane will head upstairs, where they’ll make love to continue their celebratory night.
At the jazz lounge, Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) will complain about Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) disrupting a private party, but Jill will push for answers about Mamie’s agenda when it comes to her Chancellor-Winters investment.
Mamie will insist she came back to spend more time with her family and help them move past the hostility, but Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) will seem a little suspicious and miffed over all the secrecy.
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will agree about Mamie not having to go to such great lengths to spend time with her loved ones, but Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) will defend Mamie and eventually speak with her alone.
That’ll give Mamie a chance to quiz Nate about his love life since Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is clearly more than just his boss.
Mamie will ask what happened to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) since she got good vibes from her at the gala earlier this year.
Nate will suggest they headed down different paths, so Mamie will wonder if Victoria was the reason why and question when Nate got involved with her.
However, Nate will contend that how he got together with Victoria is a story for another day – that is if Mamie can refrain from passing judgment.
Although Nate will be glad Mamie’s back in town, he’ll hope she can respect boundaries.
Mamie will assure Nate that she just wants her family members to be happy, so he’ll seem satisfied with that.
As for Jill, she’ll bicker with Mamie about ulterior motives, but she’ll ultimately agree to stay for the celebration and dial down the anger.
Jill will once again try to figure out what Mamie’s end game is, but Mamie will hint about not showing her hand yet.
When Devon speaks with Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) privately and voices his concerns about Mamie’s shady way of doing things, Abby will suggest maybe Mamie simply wanted it to be a surprise.
At the Chancellor mansion later, Jill will warn Devon about there always being another surprise behind the surprise when it comes to Mamie.
Devon will admit Jill knows Mamie far better than him and will seem like he believes her warning.
As for Lily, she’ll meet up with Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) at her penthouse, where he’ll get updates on how the evening went.
Daniel won’t seem concerned about Mamie’s agenda and will massage Lily’s shoulders to help relax her.
Back at the jazz lounge, Victoria will wonder if Nate was tempted by Mamie’s idea about him returning to Chancellor-Winters.
Nate will shut that suggestion down immediately since he’s happy at Newman Enterprises – not to mention Lily and Devon would never allow his comeback.
Even if Devon and Lily did allow it, Nate will feel certain that he’d be just as miserable as before – or maybe even more!
Nate will tease Victoria about trying to get rid of him, but she’ll confirm she wants him to stay right where he is and will lean in for a kiss.
In Mamie’s suite on Thursday’s Y&R episode, she’ll pour a glass of bubbly and toast to herself.
Mamie will also answer a phone call from a mysterious partner and assure that person that things went off without a hitch.
Mamie will be amused over all the curiosity she’s stirring up and will reassure the person on the other end of the line that none of them have a clue.
After Mamie reiterates that tonight went perfectly, she’ll laugh on the phone call and seem pleased over their plan going well.
