The Young and the Restless Recap: Tuesday, April 18 – Summer Taunts Diane in Jail – Chance Learns Jeremy Vanished

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, April 18, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will assure Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) that he’ll convince Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) to take her case, but she won’t think that’s going to happen.

In the jail visiting area, Diane will act like she was a fool to believe she could have a future with Jack, but he’ll insist he won’t let her pay for a crime she didn’t commit.

At Crimson Lights, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) will talk to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) about the evidence against Diane before the conversation shifts to Jeremy Stark (James Hyde).

After Chance considers the possibility that Jeremy killed Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) for her money and got payback by framing Diane, he’ll mention that he’s tracking Stark’s finances.

When someone from the GCPD calls, Chance will insist they need more boots on the ground ASAP.

Once Chance hangs up, he’ll tell Christine that Jeremy checked out of The Grand Phoenix right after the distribution of Phyllis’ assets to his account. Chance will add that no one knows where Jeremy is now.

At Society, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will get updates on Jack’s phone call to Michael, who’ll upset her when he mulls over taking Diane’s case.

After Jack makes a pitch later, Michael will admit he’s come to believe Jeremy framed Diane, but he’ll insist he can’t take the case since Phyllis would haunt him until the day he died – and Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) would be even worse.

However, Jack will insist Michael is Diane’s only hope. Although Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will hint that he might have to fire Michael if he takes a leave of absence for this, Michael will end up taking Diane’s case anyway.

At the Abbott house, Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) and Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) will return from their London trip to find Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) bickering with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor).

Since Summer will be fed up with Kyle for defending Diane, Noah will get her out of the house for a while.

That’ll lead to Summer venting at the coffeehouse, but she’ll ultimately take off since Diane’s arraignment is coming up.

Back at the Abbott house, Allie will seemingly side with Kyle about Diane’s innocence, but she’ll wonder why Jeremy didn’t just kill Diane instead. Kyle will suspect Stark thinks it’s more fun to make Diane suffer and will suggest that Phyllis was just collateral damage.

Next on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Kyle will arrive at Crimson Lights just after Summer leaves, so he’ll talk to Noah about needing to prove Diane’s innocence.

Noah will contend that even if Stark is guilty, Diane was still the trigger for Phyllis’ death – and he won’t think Summer’s going to forget that.

Meanwhile, Chance will catch up with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), so they’ll talk about Summer’s pain before ultimately doing a little flirting.

At Society again, Milton (Mo Rocca) the accountant will bump into Nikki, so they’ll discuss how long it’s been since they’ve seen each other. There’ll also be some talk about Milton’s divorce news.

Although Milton will act like this could be a chance to explore things between them, Nikki will shut down the idea – leaving Milton to admire the “golden goddess” as she walks away.

Once Michael visits Diane in lockup, he’ll admit he’s decided to take her case, but he’ll require the truth at all times.

Diane will give Michael her word that she’ll always be honest and will feel like she might actually have a fighting chance to go home.

After Diane’s offscreen arraignment, Jack will fume over her being denied bail. Kyle will wonder if they can appeal that decision, but Michael will just want to focus on building a strong defense.

Back in the jail visiting area, Summer will stop by to see Diane, who’ll be wearing a gray jumpsuit.

Once Summer assumes Diane is terrified, she’ll spell out what’s going to happen next.

Summer will insist that Diane is going to be convicted and will spend her days imagining all the family celebrations that she’ll never be part of.

After Summer points out that Diane will never have her dream wedding or hold any grandchildren again, she’ll insist Kyle’s going to be just fine without his mom.

Summer will snap about Diane getting exactly what she deserves for ripping Phyllis from all their lives, so Diane will seem unsettled as Summer storms out.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Diane will hold out hope that Michael can prove she’s an innocent woman, so stay tuned.
