The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, July 18, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will hit the sheets with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) again as they celebrate their new collaboration.
Audra will mention Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) Newman meeting and her questions about it, so Kyle will offer to use his lingering connection to the Newman family to score intel.
Although Audra will wonder how Kyle’s wife would feel about that, he won’t seem to care about Summer Newman-Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) feelings.
Once Kyle gets dressed and prepares to leave, Audra will give him updates on Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) getting nosy and spotting his text earlier.
Kyle won’t want Tucker in his business, but Audra won’t think it’ll amount to more than a few inappropriate remarks.
Just as Kyle’s about to walk out the door, Nate will show up. It’ll be obvious to Nate that Kyle and Audra are involved, but he’ll privately tell Audra that it’s none of his concern as long as it doesn’t interfere with her work.
Talk will turn to the meeting Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) called at the Newman ranch, but Nate will want to discuss the details over dinner and wine.
Down at the GCAC bar, Nate will fill Audra in on Victor taking control and how he wants Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) to work together on their side project.
Since Victor also wants Nate to remain in the Newman Enterprises’ COO spot, Nate will point out that Audra can run Newman Media with Kyle as her right-hand man. Audra and Nate will toast multiple times as they celebrate their success.
At the Abbott house, Summer will arrive looking for Kyle, but Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will admit he took off after finding out Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was arrested.
Summer will be taken aback to learn Kyle’s already in the loop and will think he needs to hear the whole story since Phyllis turned herself in.
Diane will trash Phyllis and continue to insist Summer is a victim like her, but Summer will question why Diane even cares about her marriage since she’s not her biggest fan.
When Diane looks at Summer, she’ll claim to see the woman that Kyle loves – and her son’s happiness is all that’ll truly matter to her.
Diane and Summer will bond a bit over their bad girl pasts, so Summer will end up confessing to forcing Kyle into marriage back when Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) needed a liver transplant.
However, Diane will think the connection between Summer and Kyle is real, so she’ll urge her daughter-in-law not to give up hope on her marriage yet.
Once Kyle comes home, he’ll be annoyed over Summer’s presence. Summer will clarify that Phyllis turned herself in instead of getting captured, so Kyle will snap that it took her long enough.
After Summer steps close enough to get a whiff of perfume, she’ll seem surprised and will ask if Kyle’s been with somebody.
Kyle will ignore the question and stop the conversation, but Summer will get her answer when she finds Audra with Nate at the GCAC later.
Once Summer seemingly gets a whiff of the perfume Audra’s wearing, she’ll look distraught.
Back with Diane, she’ll fish for information from Kyle, but he’ll shut her down other than mentioning his new job at Newman Media.
Diane will think Kyle’s being impulsive and will hate all the family drama, but she won’t want to fight and will ultimately head to bed.
Back at the athletic club, Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) will push Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) to drop the charges and release Phyllis, but Christine will make it clear that it’s not happening.
Christine will also find it suspicious that Phyllis turned herself in right when EMT Carson (Walter Belenky) was ready to cooperate, but Heather will deny that Phyllis knew in advance.
Although Christine and Phyllis obviously have a terrible history, Heather will warn Phyllis not to let that cloud her view when it comes to punishing her.
At Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) penthouse, Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will open up about Phyllis turning herself in and being in a jail cell right now.
After Daniel admits something feels off, he’ll explain that he’s learned Phyllis’ tells. Daniel will sense that Phyllis knew more than she was letting on regarding Carson’s decision to come forward.
On Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Daniel will also thank Lily for her support and get some news regarding Phyllis’ upcoming arraignment on his phone.
As much as Daniel would like to believe the worst is over, he’ll feel like there’s always another storm blowing in that’s bigger and worse than the one before.
