The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, May 16, teases that Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will snap at Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) when he tries to check in with her at the jazz lounge, but she’ll ultimately apologize.
Billy will reflect on how the good part of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will stay alive for Summer and will urge her to lean on her loved ones right now.
Once Summer’s alone, she’ll leave Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) a voicemail and insist they have to help Phyllis no matter what it takes.
Summer will add that they can’t let Phyllis disappear on them and will push Daniel to call her back.
At Crimson Lights on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will notice that Daniel looks like he could use a friend, so he’ll admit he’s waiting for some bombs to drop.
After Daniel alludes to potentially making matters worse for someone he’s trying to help, Chelsea will get it since she’s facing similar struggles with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).
Once Chelsea pitches a version of the gaming platform that would help kids, Daniel will want to work for a while since he could use the distraction.
When Daniel reveals that they’re almost ready to test the prototype for Omega Sphere, Chelsea will think that’s great news.
Billy will come along later and get updates on Chelsea’s business meeting, so he’ll love seeing her enthusiasm.
After Billy and Chelsea shower each other with compliments, Chelsea will seem lost in thought for a moment.
Billy will get Chelsea to open up, so she’ll talk about having moments where she wonders if her happiness is real and if she deserves it.
Chelsea will also think about how she almost wasn’t here for anything of this due to that fateful night on the ledge.
However, Billy will assure Chelsea that she’s indeed here and will suggest they should go for a walk together since it’s a beautiful night.
At Society, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will push Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to reveal what’s going on, but Jack won’t think Victor would believe him.
Although Victor will push Jack to try him, Jack will manage to avoid spilling the truth and turn his attention to Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) when she arrives.
Once Victor leaves, Jack will tell Christine all about Phyllis’ faked death plot and how she reached out to Daniel now that she’s battling regrets.
Jack will also talk about Phyllis being on the run from charges and will mention the fact that she killed Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) with a pair of scissors.
None of that will be enough to convince Christine that this is anything more than wishful thinking, so she’ll tell Jack to bring her concrete evidence if he expects her to do anything about his claims.
At the Abbott house, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will shock Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) by revealing that Phyllis staged her own death to frame Diane for murder.
Diane will feel like this is pure evil and will have half a mind to hunt Phyllis down so she can drag her back by the hair!
Kyle will point out that’s why Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) wanted to keep this a secret from Diane, who’ll realize Jack lied to her, too.
Diane will learn Jack is trying to get the GCPD to look for proof since they only have Daniel’s word to go on so far.
Still, Diane will be thrilled to know freedom is much closer than she previously thought.
Kyle will mention that Daniel begged him not to tell Summer, but Diane will encourage her son to come clean anyway.
After Diane talks about the toll this secret could take, she’ll admit she’s not sure Kyle’s marriage could survive that.
Back with Christine, she’ll meet with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) in the jazz lounge and reveal the crazy story she heard from Jack.
Although Christine will believe it’s simply a desperate defense strategy, she’ll give Chance a heads-up in case Jack approaches him.
As for Summer, she’ll come home to Kyle’s confession about Phyllis being alive.
Kyle will explain everything Daniel revealed before admitting Jack, Michael and Diane know as well.
Summer will flip out over Phyllis potentially being arrested, but she’ll also act like she’s scared to hope Phyllis really survived.
Kyle will insist it’s true since Daniel wouldn’t have told him if it weren’t.
“Yeah, why would he tell you?” Summer will ask while looking both unsettled and angry.
After Daniel listens to Summer’s voicemail from earlier, he’ll spot Christine and Chance talking at the jazz lounge.
Daniel will turn right back around and walk out to avoid having a conversation.
When Jack returns to the Abbott house, he’ll find Diane sitting outside looking pensive.
Jack will ask if something happened, so Diane will admit Kyle told her about Phyllis’ faked death and frame job.
Although Diane will insist Jack should’ve been the one to tell her, she’ll believe his intentions were good when it came to protecting her.
Jack will ask if that means he’s forgiven, so Diane will acknowledge that she can’t stay angry with a man she loves so much.
Once Jack promises to marry Diane, he’ll contend Phyllis got her in this mess and is going to get her out!
The Young and the Restless spoilers say finding Phyllis could be a tricky task, but Jack will be committing to flushing her out somehow.
