The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, September 19, teases that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) chats with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) about her daughter’s upcoming doctor’s appointment. She wishes Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) could make it, but the weather prevents her wife from returning home.
Sharon tells Mariah that she’s excited about the new company. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is making good headway on his trip. Sharon admits she’s relieved that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) isn’t part of the company anymore.
Mariah asks her mom how things are going with Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd). Sharon smiles and admits that she may have some competition for Chance – Summer Newman (Allison Lanier).
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Mariah is thunderstruck by Sharon’s admission but tells her mom that Chance clearly is fond of her. She doesn’t think Summer is a threat to her relationship.
Sharon tells Mariah not to worry about her relationship with Chance. She’s enjoying it while it lasts and focusing on business. Tessa arrives to surprise Mariah. She tells Mariah there is no way she’d miss their daughter’s doctor’s appointment.
At Society, Summer runs into Daniel Romalotti (Michael Grazaidei). He tells her that Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) are flying to Lisbon tomorrow morning. He doesn’t know when he’ll see Lucy again.
Summer says she wouldn’t know how to handle it if Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) ran off with Harrison Abbott Locke (Kellen Enriquez).
Summer mentions that while her divorce has been challenging, she’s ready to move on with her life.
Daniel asks if her new adventure is romantic, trying to ask if she’s seeing anyone. Summer isn’t ready to jump into another relationship just yet.
Summer doesn’t see her relationship with Kyle being repaired after everything that’s happened.
Summer tells her brother she’s not entirely ready to move on, but she always feels better after talking to Chance.
That makes Daniel laugh, considering how Chance investigated Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) after she faked her death.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Daniel points out that Chance is seeing Sharon.
Summer says she’s aware but doesn’t think they are serious. She won’t put herself in the position to be the other woman.
At the Abbott estate, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) discuss the Tucker McCall (Trevor St John) and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) situation. They need to find a way to minimize the Tucker’s threat.
The only upside to the drama between Tucker and Ashley is their sister is free from his reach. Jack says Ashley will work remotely until they figure out a game plan.
Billy suggests they use Tucker’s connection to Devon Winters (Bryton James) to break McCall down.
If they can turn Devon against his dad, it will make Tucker weaker. Jack isn’t sure he’s comfortable with that. The brothers decide to go out for a drink to discuss the situation further.
At the Jazz Lounge, Tucker finds Phyllis sitting alone. She assumes things are going well for him and Ashley, pointing out that he’s alone.
Phyllis wonders what he did to Ashley for her to break up with him. He refuses to talk about it, but he has something else he wants to discuss.
Tucker heard she’s on the hook for the $2M insurance payout that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) took after she faked her death.
Tucker assumes Phyllis is clueless about where the money went. He suggests they could make a deal that could benefit them both.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Tucker offers to pay her debt. She rejects his offer. She assumes that there are strings attached. Phyllis says she must keep her nose clean as she’s on probation.
Phyllis informs Tucker that she’s working for SNA Media. Tucker tells Phyllis that that company no longer exists and assumes Sharon and Nick won’t want her to work for Kirsten International. Phyllis says she’ll figure it out. She’s resourceful.
Y&R spoilers say that Tucker keeps asking Phyllis for her help. She finally breaks and inquires what this job entails.
Phyllis sees Billy and Jack stroll into the Jazz Lounge and jumps up to tell them this isn’t what it looks like. She’s not conspiring with Tucker. He just happened to show up and sit with her at the table.
Jack approaches Tucker and brags that his hold on Ashley is over. McCall informs Jack that his love for Ashley is real. Billy and Jack urge Tucker to leave Genoa City and reinvent himself elsewhere.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Billy blocks Phyllis’ exit. He tells Phyllis he has no beef with her, urging her not to let her haters drag her down.
She asks what the deal is with Tucker and Ashley. Billy warns Phyllis to stay away from Tucker because it will get messy as they plot to bring him down.
After Phyllis exits, Tucker pulls Billy aside and tells him he may be the only Abbott with a level head. Billy joins Jack at the bar, who tells his brother they must get rid of Tucker immediately.
After talking to Sharon, Phyllis heads back to GCAC to discuss his job offer with Tucker. Sharon confirmed that SNA Media is no more and suggested her job offer is invalid.
Phyllis corners Tucker to get the details of his job offer. He tells her that she must hack into a business and gather information. It will be easy for her to do. He also says he will give her more details once he knows she’s in.
