The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 26, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will summon Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) for a meeting and ask him to encourage Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as he rejoins the company.
Since Nate will have doubts about Adam’s sincerity when it comes to this reset, he’ll think Adam will see right through any attempt to befriend him.
Although Victor will hope that Adam is truly turning things around, he’ll acknowledge the possibility that Adam could be playing them all for fools.
It’ll dawn on Nate that Victor wants him to support Adam while still keeping an eye on him for signs of betrayal.
At Crimson Lights, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will suspect that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has been reaching out to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) in hopes that he’ll be her ally at Newman Enterprises.
Victoria will admit to calling Nick multiple times and hearing nothing in reply while he’s been on his trip.
However, Victoria will note that Nick could indeed become an ally – and she’ll still want Nikki’s help convincing Victor that this return to the throne will be too strenuous.
Nikki will be concerned about Victor’s health as well, but she’ll point out that this is Victor’s decision and warn Victoria not to undermine her father.
Meanwhile, Nick will return from his trip and land in Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) suite, where they’ll make love right away.
Once Nick is basking in the afterglow with Sally, he’ll ask if she saw Adam while he was out of town. Sally will keep quiet about the kiss, but she’ll admit she crossed paths with Adam and that he’s still claiming he wants a new beginning.
Nick will doubt that’s true and compare Adam to a tornado before talk turns to Victor reclaiming the CEO seat.
Sally will get why Nick would be torn between walking away and wanting to offer stability to his family.
At Newman Enterprises, Nikki and Victoria will interrupt Victor’s conversation with Nate.
That’ll give Victor a chance to mention the imminent press release announcing all the changes, including the news about Adam now that he’s starting at the bottom.
Victoria will assume it’s pointless to tell Victor that it’s a mistake to give Adam another position there, but Victor will maintain that it’s his call and remind Victoria that no one’s job is secure.
Once Nate’s alone with Victoria, he’ll explain Victor’s plan to have him become “Adam’s new best friend” and secretly watch over him. Victoria will understand the logic behind that arrangement and admit it’s not a bad idea.
Next on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will get Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) on a video chat, but they won’t have any answers about who Victor sold his stake in Chancellor-Winters to.
When the possibility of Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) being involved comes up, Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) will act like that’d really be going too far.
Regardless of who the mysterious investor is, Jill will have a bad feeling about it and will decide it’s time to confront Victor herself.
After Jill berates Victor on another video call, he’ll refuse to reveal who he sold to and will insist she’ll find out soon enough.
At the GCAC, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will want to cut to the chase with Adam and avoid playing games when it comes to scoring the dirt on Tucker.
Adam will admit there isn’t anything the Abbotts have that he wants, but Jack will suggest watching Tucker fail might be enough.
Since Adam is turning over a new leaf, Jack will act like giving this information without expecting anything in return could be a step in the right direction.
Adam will eventually agree to give Jack the scoop, but he’ll want to know that he can count on Jack for a helping hand if he needs it somewhere down the line.
As Jack ponders this IOU, he’ll hint that it seems like he’s making a deal with the devil. Even so, Jack will strike that deal, so Adam will suggest that Jack should check his inbox for the info.
After Jack receives a text from Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) summoning him home for something important, he’ll head back to the Abbott house right away.
That’s where Jack will be stunned to find Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) there for a visit!
