The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, April 5, teases that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will find Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) alone at Crimson Lights looking lost in thought.
Once Billy reveals that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is dead, Chelsea will comfort him since he used to love her once upon a time.
Billy will admit it feels wrong that Phyllis is gone and will accept Chelsea’s offer to sleep on her sofa tonight.
Next on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) will lead Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) up to a GCAC suite and urge him to stop making public threats.
Daniel will fire back that he’s manifesting Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) death and will suggest maybe he could beat some answers out of his new stepdad.
However, Daniel will ultimately blame himself for Phyllis’ death and will open up to Danny about how he pushed his mom away.
Danny will try to comfort Daniel, who’ll take a shower while his dad calls Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and confesses that Daniel’s in a dark place.
When Daniel comes out of the shower, he’ll find Lily waiting for him.
Lily will hug Daniel and talk about her own experience with grief, so Daniel will appreciate the support.
Although Daniel will vow to call Lily in the morning, she’ll insist there’s no need since she’s going to stay with him tonight.
Lily will sit nearby until she sees that Daniel is struggling to sleep. Once Lily crawls in bed with Daniel, she’ll wrap her arms around him and pull him close.
At Society, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will talk to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) about Phyllis’ mysterious collapse and will think they owe it to her to get some answers.
Nate and Elena will also discuss how they worked well as a medical team earlier, but Nate will point out that being a doctor is part of his past.
Elena will support Nate’s new career, but she won’t want it to change him and will remain concerned about Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) influence.
Since Elena will still be wound up from the night’s events, she’ll decide to walk home later and will send a tired Nate home alone.
That’ll give Elena a chance to type J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) name into a search engine on her phone and contemplate looking up info on him.
At the Abbott house, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will bicker with Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) briefly before deciding they should put their differences aside for the time being.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will wish he knew how to help Summer, but Ashley will suggest maybe he should just give her space right now.
Once Summer comes down to Kyle, Diane and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) later, she’ll blame Diane for causing all this.
Diane will promise she had nothing to do with Jeremy’s plans, but Summer will point out that Diane threatened to strangle Phyllis to death in front of witnesses.
Diane will insist she said that in the heat of the moment and that she never meant to harm Phyllis.
Jack will back Diane up by urging Summer to see that what happened was an accident.
Summer will still feel like Diane resented Phyllis and wanted to destroy her.
After Summer says Diane really is the monster that Phyllis warned them about, she’ll contend that Diane came in and took over Phyllis’ life.
Kyle and Jack will try to stop Summer’s tirade, but she’ll argue that she’s being honest for the first time in a long time – and she’ll push Diane to do the same.
Summer will urge Diane to admit that she wanted Phyllis dead all along, but Diane will once again deny wanting actual harm to come to her.
Even so, Summer will ask how Diane felt when she heard the news about Phyllis’ death.
Kyle will finally convince Summer to come upstairs with him, but she’ll break down in tears on the way up and won’t think she can handle feeling like this for the rest of her life.
Once Summer and Kyle are out of the room, Diane will cry as Jack says Summer just needs someone to blame.
Although Diane will acknowledge that Summer might be too upset to think clearly right now, she’ll wonder if Jack thinks she’s responsible for what happened to Phyllis.
Diane will bring up the earlier altercation and worry that Jack blames her on some level, but she’ll insist that she had nothing to do with Phyllis’ fate.
After Diane asks Jack for complete honesty, she’ll want to know if he believes she’s innocent.
Jack will admit that six months ago, he might’ve believed Diane could harm Phyllis.
Once Jack says he has a mountain of questions, he’ll assure Phyllis that she’s not involved in any of them.
Jack will also be sorry for making Diane question his love and will pull her into a hug as she sobs.
As the conversation shifts to Jeremy, Jack will suggest this is the ultimate payback if it’s indeed Stark’s setup.
After Diane worries about facing more of Jeremy’s mind games and manipulation, Jack will insist Jeremy won’t get away with whatever he’s up to.
Jack will also assure Diane that he has unshakeable faith in her and will insist nothing is ever going to change that.
In a cheap motel room, someone will enter before Phyllis comes out of the bathroom.
“Took you long enough,” Phyllis will snap.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis and Jeremy’s scheme will lead to all kinds of complications, so stay tuned for updates on the next phase of their plan.
