The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 20, reveals that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will spend some time with Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway) and Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) at the GCAC, where they’ll discuss upcoming Christmas plans.
Ashley will have plenty of presents to spoil Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) with, but she’ll fish to find out whether Devon and Abby’s holiday is going to include Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).
However, Devon will assure Ashley that Tucker won’t be a problem.
Meanwhile, Tucker will receive a package of some gifts that he was hoping to give Dominic for Christmas.
Once Tucker corners Devon alone downstairs, he’ll hope that maybe he could drop the presents off for Dominic at some point.
Devon will eventually cave in on the idea, but Tucker will push his luck by asking if they can spend Christmas Eve together.
Since this holiday is all about Dominic, Devon will refuse to ruin it with Tucker’s drama.
Although Tucker will hope for another chance or an old-fashioned Christmas truce one day, Devon won’t be interested.
Back at the table, Ashley will hint about Tucker’s imminent downfall and seem like she feels a little sorry for him.
Abby clearly won’t think Tucker deserves sympathy, but she’ll agree to tolerate Tucker if Ashley will promise to never get back together with him.
Ashley will make that promise since she’ll feel like Tucker burned any romantic bridges with his actions in Paris.
At Society, Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) will laugh with Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) about the awesome concert they went to.
There’ll be a fake flashback of Chance and Summer having a blast while dancing in the crowd.
In the present, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will arrive and spot Summer’s warm moment with Chance, so she’ll get updates on Summer taking Sharon Rosales’ (Sharon Case) concert ticket.
Phyllis will pretend she’s concerned about Chance’s relationship with Sharon and suggest she hopes everything is OK.
Summer and Chance will explain that Sharon was simply stuck working, so Summer took the ticket since it was her favorite band.
Chance will joke about Summer teaching him some dance moves before he heads off for a business meeting.
Once Phyllis speaks with Summer privately, she’ll be glad to see that her daughter is going for it with Chance.
Summer will insist that’s not what’s happening and will act like she was just trying to distract herself since she’s not with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) for Christmas.
Phyllis will settle for being happy that Summer was able to have a good time with an amazing guy.
Talk will turn to Phyllis’ latest job offer, so Summer will flip out and insist her mom can’t get caught up in Tucker’s dealings anymore.
Summer will assume Tucker’s going to ask Phyllis to do something illegal as part of his plan against Jabot.
Furthermore, it would break Daniel Romalotti Jr.’s (Michael Graziadei) heart if Phyllis walked away from the second chance he gave her.
Phyllis will insist she’s not considering Tucker’s offer, but she’ll admit she’d be running the IT department of his new company if she took it.
That’d be a big step up from what Phyllis is doing now, which basically amounts to busy work so that Daniel can babysit her.
Phyllis will also note that Tucker is offering to quadruple her salary and is willing to work with her despite their mutual hatred. That’s because Phyllis is the best at what she does, so she’ll just think it’s nice to be appreciated.
Summer won’t want to hear any of this and will argue that she’s not going to trust Phyllis again if she takes this job with Tucker.
Once Tucker arrives, Summer will assume it’s a planned meeting instead of a coincidence like Phyllis claims.
On her way out, Summer will warn Tucker to stay away from her mother, so Tucker will join Phyllis and praise her for raising a protective, outspoken daughter.
Since Phyllis told Summer about the job offer, Tucker will think that must mean she’s considering it.
Phyllis will argue that she just told Summer for a laugh and will offer a warning to Tucker.
“There is no way in hell I am ever, ever, EVER gonna work with you,” Phyllis will declare.
Tucker will respond to that with a smirk on Wednesday’s Y&R episode like he doesn’t believe Phyllis.
At the Abbott mansion, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) will spend some time decorating the Christmas tree together.
Kyle and Harrison will eventually join the holiday fun, so Diane and Jack will kiss under the mistletoe at Harrison’s request.
Since this is Kyle’s first Christmas without Summer, Diane will check on him. Kyle will insist that’s all in the past and keep his focus on happier things.
After Kyle gets a text from Tucker asking about his progress, he’ll step outside with Jack.
That’ll bring some talk about the plan to trick Tucker using a discarded formula and act like it’s their next big fragrance.
By the time Tucker figures it out, it’ll be too late. Jack and Kyle will look forward to nailing Tucker for corporate theft to complete his downfall after the scandalous cover-up story leaks.
When Ashley comes home, she’ll convince Kyle and Jack to stop all the Tucker talk, so they’ll head inside for more family Christmas time.
At Chancellor-Winters, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will confirm the news of his return to Mamie Johnson (Veronica Redd) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Billy will insist on protecting Jill Abbott’s (Jess Walton) place at the company and will reveal that he’s temporarily filling in for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Nate will act like Billy abandoned Chancellor-Winters when he left for Jabot, but Billy will point out that Nate schemed against them and suggest it’s best to focus on moving forward.
At Crimson Lights later, Billy will meet with Chance and reveal that he’ll be serving as Chance’s mentor.
Although Chance will be excited about joining Chancellor-Winters, he’ll get honest about Billy’s problematic track record and seem skeptical about having him in a mentoring role.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Billy’s return to Chancellor-Winters could come with more issues than he expected, so stay tuned.
