The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, September 20, teases that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) discuss Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) at Jabot. They worry that Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) could be planning something after going “radio silent” with Ashley.
Billy decides they need to talk to Devon Winters (Bryton James) about his dad. Jack is still on the fence about involving Devon in the Tucker situation. Billy is confident that Devon should know what his father is up to so he can protect his family.
Jack thinks it’s a bad idea to meddle in the relationship between father and son. Billy presses that he will wreak more havoc if they don’t handle Tucker. Jack wants Billy to drop it and find another way to drive Tucker away.
Y&R spoilers say that Billy sends Devon a text message after Jack leaves. He asks Devon to meet to discuss an important matter.
At Lily Winters’s (Christel Khalil) apartment, Lily informs Devon that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) wants out of Chancellor-Winters. He sold all of his shares to a third-party investor. It doesn’t make sense to Devon. Why would Victor invest in CW and then pull out several months later?
Lily contacted Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), who is just as clueless about the situation as they are. They speculate it could have something to do with him taking over Newman Enterprises again.
Devon receives a text from Billy asking him to meet. He assumes it is about Tucker.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Devon admits that his dad is probably not the victim in his disagreement with Ashley. Devon hoped his dad would change, but it was all an act.
At the GCAC, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) bumps into Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Diane tries to chit-chat with Phyllis, but Red gets annoyed. She assumes Diane is trying to get under her skin.
Diane claims she’s trying to be friendly for the sake of their children. Diane blames Phyllis for ruining Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) and Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) marriage.
Y&R spoilers say Phyllis counters by accusing Kyle of jumping in bed with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Phyllis dismisses Diane, stating she cannot do this back and forth with Diane. She promised Summer she wouldn’t get involved. Diane expresses her concern that Kyle is hiding from his feelings. They both agree that it’s a nightmare and a shame that Summer and Kyle cannot put their marriage back together.
Diane suggests they get along for the sake of their children. They don’t need to meddle, but it doesn’t need to be toxic between them. The ladies start bickering about their differences when Tucker strolls in.
After Diane exits, Phyllis gets a table to talk to Tucker. Phyllis admits she’s interested in his offer because she needs to pay off the insurance company. She needs to know the name of the company he wants to hack. She assumes it is related to Jabot.
Tucker explains he doesn’t need Jabot records. He wants Billy’s personal finance records. Tucker refused to explain why he wanted Billy’s records. Tucker tells Phyllis that no one will know she helped him.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Phyllis is reluctant to help him but eventually agrees. She needs half the money upfront and the rest after she provides the records.
At Society, Devon meets with Billy. Abbott tells Winters that his father is out of control once again. Billy believes that Tucker used Ashley to go after Jabot. He thinks that was the plan along.
Devon thinks Billy is overreacting. He thinks it’s just a marital fight, and they’ll patch things up. But Billy isn’t so sure. Ashley said she was terrified of Tucker’s violent outburst.
Lily meets with Victor at Newman Enterprises. Victor asks if she’s shocked to hear that he sold his stake in Chancellor-Winters. He says he had his reasons for it.
Victor reminds her that he only stepped up to help repair her relationship with Devon. Now that he has issues at Newman Enterprises, he needs capital to make the necessary changes.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Lily asks for the new investor’s name. He refuses to say. He says the investor wants to remain anonymous for now. Once he has the completed paperwork, they will introduce themselves.
At Jabot, Diane shows up to vent to Jack about her conversation with Phyllis. Jack agrees with Phyllis. They shouldn’t meddle in their children’s lives. They can work out their issues on their own. All they can do is support them. Jack believes they will work it out if Summer and Kyle are meant to be together.
Jack and Diane worry that Kyle is hurting and on a downward spiral. They wished he would come home and find his way back to Jabot.
Later, Jack and Diane arrive at Society for a drink and spot Billy with Devon at the bar. Jack assumes Billy went behind his back and involved Devon in the Tucker situation.
At Crimson Lights, Summer spots Kyle. He asks her if she got the letter about the hearing to discuss their son’s custody.
When Summer sits down, she said their son’s well-being comes first. He deserves fully invested parents who want the best for him.
Kyle and Summer agree they shouldn’t make this any more challenging than it has been for the youngster. Summer laughs and wonders if this is a truce. She would like for them to be able to get along.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Summer has heard about Newman Enterprises’ drama. Kyle admits that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) forced him to end his fling with Audra.
Summer’s glad to hear that because she’s sure nothing good would come from a relationship with Audra.
Summer apologizes for hurting him. She urges him to return to Jabot because “that’s where he belongs.”
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that Summer and Kyle’s divorce may be more complicated than anticipated.
