The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) may move forward with Tucker McCall’s (Trevor St. John) recent suggestion. After Ashley turned down Tucker’s request for her to marry him, Tucker decided to change tactics in Y&R’s March 31 episode.
Instead, Tucker suggested an engagement ploy and acted like it could be a game.
Since ranting at Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) isn’t making a difference, Tucker thought maybe Ashley could shake him up with her actions instead.
Ashley seemed intrigued by Tucker’s idea of announcing their engagement without making an actual commitment.
Tucker at least convinced Ashley to think about it since she’d love to steal Diane Jenkins’ (Susan Walters) thunder and drive Jack up the wall.
The goal here would be to share this fake engagement publicly and outrage Jack.
Ashley might even use this as leverage since she’s going to hand down an ultimatum during the week of April 10-14.
Perhaps Ashley will insist that she’ll call off her engagement to Tucker if Jack drops his own engagement to Diane first.
Of course, Jack may act like Ashley’s being ridiculous and refuse to be pressured.
If Ashley wants to get engaged to Tucker – no matter her motives – Jack might insist that’s her choice to make.
Jack would obviously rather see Ashley kick Tucker to the curb, but it’s not like he’s going to throw away his relationship with Diane because of Ashley and Tucker’s plan to tie the knot.
In other words, the plan will surely fail if Ashley thinks this will really make a difference in what Jack does.
Ashley may only succeed in annoying Jack and further fracturing their sibling bond.
Besides, Jack has much bigger problems to worry about due to Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) faked death and all Jeremy Stark’s (James Hyde) scheming.
Diane is about to be framed for murder, so Jack may not have the time or energy to worry about Ashley’s love life.
However, this plan could still work out well for Tucker since Ashley clearly has deep feelings for him.
Once Ashley gets on board with a fake engagement, it may not be too hard to get her on board with a real one.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashley and Tucker might decide to genuinely get married, so stay tuned for updates on some potential wedding news.
