The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that there’s been a lot of talk about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and the potential for him to backslide. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) have both expressed concerns related to Billy’s old inner demons resurfacing.
Now that Billy seems poised to go rogue and join Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) team for real instead of just pretending, he could enter another troublemaker era. This might be a good time for Billy to revisit a problematic pairing of the past, too.
Due to Melissa Claire Egan’s maternity leave, Billy will have to carry on without Chelsea for a while.
Chelsea will inevitably make her temporary exit soon, so that could give Billy a chance to play around with some other romantic possibilities.
Y&R fans will recall how Billy and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) committed the ultimate betrayal once upon a time. Phyllis cheated on Jack with Billy, who slept with his own brother’s wife in a hot love affair.
Billy and Phyllis aren’t proud of the way they treated Jack back then, so their romance has always been a bit of a stain on their records.
However, it indeed happened and could be revisited if Billy drifts back in Phyllis’ direction.
Phyllis could use a lifeline right about now, so could Billy become that person for her?
Billy had a surprisingly nice chat with Phyllis in the July 24 episode, so he expressed confidence that she could rise out of the inferno.
Despite Phyllis’ mistakes, Billy is rooting for her since he understands what it’s like to screw up and have to claw your way back.
Of course, we should mention that the last time Phyllis and Billy were paired up, Gina Tognoni was playing the role of Phyllis.
If Billy and Phyllis enjoy a sizzling reconnection now, it’ll be a fresh version of the pairing and could bring something new to the table.
Will Billy cheat on Chelsea while she’s away – perhaps with Phyllis under the right circumstances? Is there a chance Phyllis and Billy will be revisited as a couple?
