The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) relationship is stronger than ever now that Chelsea has settled back in town.
Billy stayed in touch with Chelsea while she was away with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), but things seem to be going especially well now that they’re not doing long distance anymore.
Of course, this could be the calm before the storm! Whenever a Y&R couple is happy and on solid ground, it often means the show’s preparing to throw a few obstacles in their path.
Chelsea and Billy could easily face a hurdle when it comes to how fast their relationship should move forward.
Since Billy is feeling good about where things are headed with Chelsea, he could easily end up popping the question.
Billy is dealing with some drama in his work life right now since he’s so focused on taking down Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).
That’s bringing some family drama to the table as well since Billy’s working on a new plan with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) and his siblings.
Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is about to deliver some shockers too since she’ll need to bring Billy in the loop on all the Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) and Jordan (Colleen Zenk) chaos.
It’s clear that Victoria feels like Claire is a victim and wants to help her build a better future.
Once the DNA test presumably proves Claire is a Newman, Victoria’s going to be even more sympathetic to her.
That could lead to friction with Billy when it comes to protecting Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) and Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri).
Billy may view Claire as a menace to society, so he could fight to keep her away from her younger brother and sister.
In other words, Billy has a lot of upheaval either happening or on the verge of happening in his corner of the world.
Billy’s romance with Chelsea is the one thing that’s going right and doesn’t feel complicated, so Billy might latch onto that and want to marry her.
Marriage is a huge step, so is that something Chelsea would really be ready for? Billy could rock the boat if he proposes, so Chelsea might reject his engagement ring – at least temporarily!
