The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Summer Newman’s (Allison Lanier) crush on Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will grow stronger and leave eager to do something about it. Summer wishes Chance were available – and maybe he will be soon!
Although Chance is currently involved with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), they’re not in a serious relationship yet.
Sharon and Chance are still in the “having fun” stage of their romance, so the door’s open for Summer to make her move.
Of course, Summer is still in the process of divorcing Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and should perhaps let her heart fully heal before she moves on.
However, Summer can’t help it if she has growing feelings for Chance – ones that could lead to some family drama once Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) comes back to town.
Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair) confirmed on her Instagram that Nina’s making a return trip to Genoa City, so it’ll be interesting to see what her next Y&R visit’s about.
You can bet Nina will catch up with Christine, Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and other familiar faces once she flies in.
Naturally, Nina will make time for her son and will likely become quite nosy about Chance’s love life.
It’s easy to imagine Nina sensing Summer’s crush and trying to shut down her pursuit of Chance.
Summer is a sometimes-problematic blonde Newman like Abby Newman-Abbott (Melissa Ordway), so Nina may be reminded of how much Abby hurt Chance and worry Summer will offer a repeat performance.
Nina won’t want Chance to get cheated on again, which could happen if Summer drifts back in Kyle’s direction.
Perhaps Nina will sense that Summer hasn’t truly moved on from Kyle and fear she’s just on the rebound.
In other words, Sharon may not be the only obstacle standing in Summer’s way when it comes to a romantic path forward with Chance.
Nina could be a hurdle too if Chance’s mom tries to control his love life and warns Summer away!
