The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will grow closer as they continue getting to know the new-and-improved versions of themselves.
Although Chelsea and Billy have made mistakes in the past, they’re both in a good place and are enjoying their newfound connection. Billy recently shared a steamy kiss with Chelsea and will be eager to do it again soon enough.
Chelsea still has some trauma to work through, but Billy’s more than willing to support her and be patient with her when need be. Other than that, Billy and Chelsea’s romance is moving right along.
There haven’t been any major issues standing in the way, so Chelsea and Billy are bound to encounter a romantic obstacle or two eventually. One of those romantic obstacles could be Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) since he has some new Y&R scenes coming up.
How will Johnny react to the news of Billy dating his bio mom? Although Johnny is cool with Chelsea now and wants her in his life, that doesn’t mean he’ll have a positive reaction to Billy and Chelsea’s romantic involvement.
If Johnny catches on without getting a heads-up, that could make things even more complicated. Johnny could easily spot Chelsea and Billy kissing when they think no one’s around.
That’s the kind of thing that could really weird Johnny out, especially if he doesn’t get any kind of warning. Johnny may act like it’s fine, but Billy and Chelsea should be able to tell that he’s uncomfortable.
It could take some time for Johnny to process the idea of Chelsea and Billy being a couple. Johnny is always going to feel a sense of loyalty to his adoptive mom and may fret over Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) reaction as well.
It’s easy to imagine some awkwardness resulting once Johnny gets updates on Billy and Chelsea falling for each other.
That could lead to Chelsea and Billy deciding they need to pump the brakes – at least until Johnny gets used to them being together romantically.
