The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will get a shocking job offer, which could lead to him arranging one for Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), too. Y&R fans know both Chelsea and Billy are looking for new career paths, so they could find them soon enough.
Billy thought he wanted to do something besides the usual corporate grind, but he may rethink his stance after Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) offers him the co-CEO spot at Jabot.
The idea of coming home again to the family business might become appealing to Billy.
As for Chelsea, she previously turned down a lead fashion designer opportunity at Marchetti.
That job was filled by someone else, but now a new spot has opened up in the home division thanks to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) getting fired.
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is using her fashion knowledge and talent to move into interior design territory.
There’s no reason why Chelsea can’t do the same, so maybe an offer to run Marchetti Home is headed her way.
If Billy takes this co-CEO job and starts working alongside Jack, he’ll want to help Chelsea figure out a fresh start as well.
It’s easy to imagine Billy pitching Chelsea as a good option to replace Phyllis.
Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) were once quite eager to have Chelsea on their team, so they might get on board.
As a bonus, Kyle could get Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) off his back about trying to score the position for herself.
It’s a bad idea for Diane to take Phyllis’ old job – and Diane has bigger problems to worry about now that Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) is back anyway.
Bottom line, Chelsea needs a job to focus on as her recovery continues.
Since Marchetti Home also needs someone to take over the division, Billy may land in the right place at the right time to help steer Chelsea in that direction.
